Following an initial pitch we we're commissioned to 'get on with the job'.
This is one of those projects that needed very careful consideration before we started doing any on-screen design. The bulk of the content related to times and dates for a wide selection of summer sporting activities. It needed to be functional, eye catching but also give an air of professionalism. It was designed to guide the reader through the options without them getting distracted by irrelevant creative. The page design simply supports the main content with a selection of relevant images and logos added for a touch of colour and a foundation as to what is on the page.
Also shown is the accompanying Summer Activity Leaflet, aimed at the parents of very young children.
To welcome Immigration Equality to its DC office, we took a page from the Metro system to suggest connections and well, doors opening.
Part direct mail (it's a self mailer!), part newsletter (interviews! articles!), part annual report (financial statements! charts!), it could have been a beast. We seemed to have tamed it; the ED is ecstatic, the development consultant too, so all is right with the world.
Immigration Equality faced a dilemma: a gala awards event at the end of their most successful year in the middle of the worst recession since WWII.
How to celebrate the success and a new office in Washington, while containing costs?
Understated elegance always works. A single metallic silver, on brown uncoated paper. Delicious, like a fine box of candy.
To underscore that Immigration Equality's work is a partnership between the organization and its supporters — I wrote a simple message: "Together, we succeed. Together, we celebrate."
