Best Princess is my largest and most complex pony model to date. The wavy alicorn hair took a lot of time and Lego geometry voodoo to accomplish, but I'm very happy with how it came out! And all of these parts should exist in real life, so I'm planning on ordering the parts to build Luna IRL soon.
Could not talk her out of being a princess, so at least she did it up right. All sparkles and shine.
I had seen these growing near the water's edge in various places over the last few years, but couldn't find a site that would let me get close enough to take pics. Finally I found one -- and if it were any closer it would have bitten me. It's growing as an urban weed tree on the limestone embankment of the Northeast Corridor train station platform in New Brunswick. I disembark at that platform on my way home from work 5 days a week -- but I usually sit at the back of the train and exit the platform via the rear stairs. The tree is just a couple of cars further forward, growing up alongside the platform railing.
This is an exotic from China, highly invasive in the US Southeast. Seems to be fairly common but scattered and limited to wet spots here in the Northeast, but that's just my own casual observation.
