Hey momma, are you still creepin’ around? You might like this one:
“Spock Spock the baby doc leads a peace march down the block, and around him everywhere you look are people he messed up with his book.”
When an empire declines, so does its discipline. The parents are undisciplined, and the children are undisciplined. This leads to a society of spoiled, entitled narcissists who lack a moral compass.
Proverbs 13:24 “He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him promptly.”
The good ol’ wood shed...hahaha.
“The store has been faced with worsening problems over the past few years posed by undesirable individuals who loiter in the parking lot while openly consuming drugs and alcohol. The store also attracts a criminal element that steals items from the shelves and people who intimidate staff and other customers.”
Revelation 21:9 “One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, ‘Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.’”
2 Thessalonians 2:3 “Don’t be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness (the antichrist) is revealed—the one who brings destruction.”
2 Thessalonians 2:10 “He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.”
Philippians 3:8 “Yes truly, and I am ready to give up all things for the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, which is more than all: for whom I have undergone the loss of all things, and to me they are less than nothing, so that I may have Christ as my reward.”
Joel 1:17 “The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.”
An image from this afternoon - one of a pair of juvenile Red-necked Phalaropes I found occupying a local pond (more of a big puddle really!) on their way south. With a bit of patience and some muddy knees and elbows I was able to approach right up to the edge of the water and get some great full-frame images.
Spring is here and the Long-billed Curlews have again returned to British Columbia's Central interior. This was one of twenty-seven of them in a local farm field tonight...
A previously unprocessed image from the archives...
There are lots of "Cross Foxes" around here, but you rarely see a pure Silver Fox
I photographed this Great Gray Owl out hunting early this morning just outside of Prince George, BC.
The temperature outside was right around the freezing point and the landscape was completely socked in with fog (and quite dark - note the exposure settings). I have had to do some post-processing work to re-establish contrast - the "foggy" version straight out of the camera was very, very flat...
Daniel 11:21 “And stood up on his station hath a despicable one, and they have not given unto him the honour of the kingdom, and he hath come in quietly, and hath strengthened the kingdom by flatteries.”
Isaiah 21:7 “When he sees riders, horsemen in pairs, a train of donkeys, a train of camels, let him pay close attention, very close attention.”
This Rednecked Grebe managed to catch a really large Columbia Sculpin. I watched him for 5 full minutes thrashing the poor fish and trying to get it down his gullet. In the end the the grebe just couldn't get that fat head and those wide ray-finned pectorals down!
One of three young Coyotes bedding down for the night near Prince George, BC. I ran across the trio yesterday evening while out birding - none of them seemed particular concerned that I was there...
A shot from earlier this evening. Today was the eBird "Big Day" event - one of my highlights of the day was unexpectedly finding a pair of Pacific Golden Plovers in peak breeding plumage in a farm field not far from my place. A short belly crawl through the ditch got me up to the fenceline undetected - I then just had to sit and wait until the birds walked by. An image of the male can be found here...
Now all that's left to do is get up tomorrow and enter 18hrs worth of checklists....

Isaiah 30:5 “There is only loathsome destruction through a people that cannot benefit them, who bring neither help nor profit, but only shame and disgrace.”
This family of Red Hooded Mergansers were frequent passers bye while out at a friends cabin on Culcutz Lake west of Prince George.
Prince George was wrecked on 30 December 1921 off Camperduin, the Netherlands. She subsequently was stripped of valuable materials and left as a breakwater, remaining there to this day
Back when I lived in Northwestern Ontario I'd see a lot of Broad-winged Hawks - they were a common occurance in that part of the world (in fact, they have fall migration records at Hawk Ridge in nearby Duluth, MN of 100,000+ daily counts of Broadwings passing over!). That is certainly not the case in the Central Interior of BC (as a range map of the species will attest...). This is the first local Broad-winged Hawk I have seen since moving ~2 years ago.
Now, I'll have to find and photograph the dark morph version!
A brief respite from the Churchill editing...
This image was taken yesterday evening. I came upon a beautiful pair of young cross foxes playing roadside on a back-road outside of town. I was able to get the car pulled over and get out the door and onto my belly with my camera without spooking them. One of the pair was very jittery and hid in some cover watching me, but the other sibling was very curious and just went on with his business, keeping a close eye on me. No sign of mom, but they are pretty big... I was able to photograph the pair for a good 20 minutes before another vehicle came along and spooked them.
I got some really fantastic images from the encounter - the best is yet to come...

I left Prince George, BC, this morning to head home to Red Deer and this is what it looked like as I headed out on the 800-km drive. The first couple hours were like this, then the skies cleared and so did the road. There were some great views of Mount Robson...I'll show you those in coming posts. It was a great road trip, but it's nice to be home!
This fellow's unique appearance caught my eye.
Quick chat...
Me: You have a great look.
Him: (to the young lady with him) See! I told you so
