At the top of the La Rambla de Catalunya and Via Diagonal, is the Coquettish Giraffe sculpted by Josep Granyer i Giralt.

Everyone and anyone, even maybe you have met someone and somebody lingering and meandering.

Yes. It is a whimsical piece and on this Semana Santa (Easter Sunday) he has primped him or herself for you.

Everything about him for me screams guy.

Could it be the mirror that does so?

Elisabeth on Sunday morning, I kind of dragged her out of the house in the middle of primping to take these heh heh :)

(foggy breath)

Fran is one high maintenance girl... Looking FABULOUS is high on her list of priorities!

Aye, a pirates life is hard. The paparazzi follow me all day and night taking thousands of photos a day. I pose and primp and give them great shots. I finally have a seat at the end of hard day pilfaring and what do they shoot and publish? Me with me dang hook half way up me nose! Shiver me timbers if me sword weren't made of cheap plastic they'd be in for it.

View on black. >>fling fling fling<< (I'll let you think about that one for a minute)

Our Daily Challenge: Have A Seat

A side note.

Today, I will hit a combined 100,000 views. I'm rather excited about that. :)

Look out all of you lady peahens, it's that time of the year again. The boys are primping and preening in the hope that you girls will take notice. Their mating plumage has returned and soon these beautiful birds will delight the visitors to the Arboretum with their annual mating rituals, their tail feathers vibrating, fanned out, and on full display.

All the Celebrities Are Doing This Really Weird Hair Trick

And it's not just Hollywood makeup artists and hairstylists primping stars for the red carpet that are using this go-to. It's a technique that's also become popular in Korea, where K-beauty companies are releasing hairline...

You've been tagged!

1. Sit down(or stand).

2. TAKE A PICTURE OF YOURSELF RIGHT NOW. Don't primp, just snap one!

3. Upload it.

4. Tag 5 people to do the same.

Please NO invites.

Image taken w/my hat falling off while trying to drive and a friend telling me to take the photo.... on the way out in the rain to pick Roma up from grooming.

OK, giving in; tagged twice, so here it goes....beyond the spontaneous image...

1. I miss not having a family anymore, more than anything. I do treasure my friends

2. .I have always loved animals, other critters and nature, and always will be awe inspired.

3. I've been taking photos since I was a teenager, as I was inspired by a professional photographer who took many of my early modeling photos. My photography was mostly as a photo journalist, and documenting automobiles for business.

4. I've been owned by my business for over 30 years.

5. I have a collection of film cameras and while I do like film more than digital, I haven't used one for months. A room of camera's, lens, tripods. and automobile books has to be cleaned out

7. I spent too much time on Flickr, but have met such wonderful people and see such incredible images.

8. I love to drive, cars and trucks and what ever I can learn on., and still miss racing a vintage Ala Romeo car.

9. These days, talk radio is on more than music, unless I am on a long trip. I do love to listen to world music and classical and jazz while driving.

10. My goal as a child, was to be an opera singer, I must have driven my family crazy, practicing in the halls and in the bathroom... I still love many types of music and humming along is fine.

11. Started fashion modeling at 16, as I was a very tall awkward girl, who loved to play w/cars and tools. My twin sister ( often called my sin twister) had no interest in anything mechanical. The photographer who inspired me, assisted with this direction.

12. I was a dancer and actress in TV and movies while I lived in SoCal ( taught voice and diction also), A major MC accident (yes, I had to try it) changed that direction immediately, (scars don’t sell well), and I still provide vehicles to many Northern California productions.. I also provide vehicles to Lucas films and to Skywalker Sound for the background sound in movies. Not much business now.

13. I volunteer for diverse animal rescue groups, and take dogs to senior centers when I can.

14. I am excited about the present political and economic status, even while it is so insecure. The fragile Global economy is a first, and changes to survive it are mandatory. My future is very unsure at this time, but I have faith that I can prevail....

15. I respect and enjoy people, from all walks of life, who are compassionate, intelligent, honest, creative, thoughtful, caring, loyal, giving and have a good sense of humor.

16. I dislike people who are selfish, cruel, dishonest, manipulative, greedy, thoughtless, sociopaths, narrow minded, and are completely disrespectful of life, the future, animals, and those who are oblivious of their impact on the environment.

Playing with new hair. I hate new wigs everytime I get one. This one is no exception but after a few hours of primping and teasing an pulling up with a spring clip it's kind of growing on me.

The girls continue to primp and preen and get ready for their night out.

At least 3 of my contacts wondered what I look like. I'm not my favorite model. :-)

Ack! I even forgot to remove the earphones! I'm listening to The New Yorker and just bought a cup of coffee.

Oh yes, I was tagged. Now I shall tag five others.

Here are the rules: (Requests)

1. Sit down

2. TAKE A PICTURE OF YOURSELF RIGHT NOW. Don't primp, just snap one!

3. Upload it

4. Tag 5 people to do the same

I was also tagged to reveal 16 random things about myself.

1. The best part of me is my parents.

2. The second best part of me is my wife. She is second only because my parents won her over.

3. Now you should expect I'd say my children and grandchildren are the third best part of me. I really should say that. All my children are through marriage. They do make me feel more normal.

4. The older I get the more I want the young to succeed.

5. I listen to a lot of podcasts: Wait, wait, don't tell me!, The Groks Science Show, Left Right and Center, The Slate Political Gabfest, and so on.

6. I also subscribe to Audible for audio books. The best in the past year was The Pillars of the Earth and World Without End by Ken Follett. The worst was Magic Street by Orson Scott Card and, believe it or not, For Whom the Bell Tolls by Hemingway.

7. I'm not usually competitive. Probably my most outstanding performance is when I scored third out of 500 in promotion testing. Probably my worst performance is when a professor in college gave me a both a negative and the lowest score in Properties of Materials class. I know it was the lowest score because he wrote it on the board. It sounds funny to get a -35 out of a possible 100 points, but at the time I was not laughing.

8. My favorite teacher has to be my second grade teacher. For some reason I didn't learn to read in the first grade. Instead of holding me back, she spent extra time with me. Our society should value teachers more.

9. I was raised a military brat.

10. One time I remember spending long hours in the car while the family moved to my father's new assignment. We stopped at my uncle's. He teased me and I kicked him. Hard. I honestly didn't know I could hurt an adult. Both my aunt and uncle understandably stayed away from me after that. Many, many years later my father told me how angry he would have been had he known. I'm so sorry Dad. I really didn't mean it.

11. I'm not sure there are 16 random things about me. Hmm. I was raised in Alaska, the land of the midnight sun.

12. The midnight sun is in summer. My friend and I hiked up Peter's Creek during the longest day of the year. It was light except for an hour or so. We couldn't see the glacier where we camped but we could feel the wind coming off it. We gave up trying to sleep and walked home hoping to avoid the grizzly bears we saw earlier in the day.

13. Alaskan winters can mean that sometimes you can not see your hand in front of your face at night. Even your own dog might not recognize you. I walked home one night and was greeted by my Siberian husky growling at me. Plaintively I called his name hoping he would recognize my voice. He did.

14. I used to wait for the school bus in short sleeves. My lips would turn purple and I'd start to shiver. Some people ignore the cold when it is what they know. Not that I advise that attitude. My father used to say that Alaska sometimes will not allow even one mistake.

15. I wrote a poem when I was about 19. Pretentiously it started out: What be I but a man. I test my wings to see if I, can fly. The poem wasn't any good, not that I know what is good when it comes to poetry, but the feeling was universal I think.

16. One more thing and I've made it! Hmm. I still have memories where I wish I had done this or that better. Unfortunately I can't change the past. It took me a long time to learn the few things I've learned. I try hard to accept my mistakes. I still wish I hadn't made them.

I am restoring a doll house as my winter project and have taken some before shots, but this is the 1st completed room! It's the lovely bedroom where girls will rest and primp! Pink~Lemonade Princess is loving it~

Someone's getting primped up for the spooky holiday! Who doesn't like scary cupcakes?

I'm pretty proud of this little outfit getaway. It's my first time making an apron and I...I am addicted. I love the little ruffles and stuff. Gahh <3

Apologize for bad lighting. Typhoon is hitting us bad this weekend, and I'm stuck in the barracks! It sucks.

Outfit is handmade by me, shoes by Dollheart.

This photo was taken after Sarie was primped and ready to go off to the Community Day in Del Ray. It is a subdivision of Alexandria VA. They are going to have a dog show as a fundraiser for the Alexandria Welfare League. Sarie won the costume contest for the League's St. Patrick's Day dog show, so we are going back for another ribbon hopefully! If not, we will still have a great time....

Update

~SHE WON~

My little girl has another blue ribbon for her scrapbook!

Thanks to Del Ray Baptist Church for hosting the event and to the Petsmart judges for selecting my little Miss Sarie! ...And thank you Alexandria Welfare League for saving the lives of our homeless animals!

Dress design by Petals and Scents

The outfit Sarie is wearing is another Petals and Scents original! Susan's work is available on eBay.. Her id is suezq289. Her workmanship is wonderful and she provides the best customer service you could ask for. I keep going back for more! Sarie is much better dressed than I am!

2007 Calendar Photos

I am putting together a group of photos for a calendar for 2007. This photo is in the running right now. The set will probably go through a lot of changes before I settle on what will be in Sarie's first complete calendar. I have created an annual calendar for the last two years. We are going to go big time this year!!

Plum's hair was quite flat after wearing outfits with a hoodie and a hat, so I had to do some primping to get some volume back into it. I think it worked!

Of course the newly found love of the workplace didn't last too long. Our heroine is far too interested in herself to bother with the day to day nastiness of actually earning her crust (where is that damn millionaire when you need him?)

A gosling cleaning and primping itself.

I not only have a new grandson I am taking care of him 40+ hours a week... No, the photographer in me has no time/energy left over... It's all good, and I am so blessed.*
