The pumpkins and this old truck are definitely past their prime in terms of usage, however on this morning they all returned to their forgotten glory!!
This time of the year (mid june-mid july is the prime time for watching Noctilucent Clouds (NLC: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noctilucent_cloud).
I was working on my new bike and just gooing back to my house and by chance looked up to the sky only to see this glorious NLC display. I've not seen NLC's too often in my life but today way definately way above average! When I took the photo they seemed to disappear already again and also lower clouds (well *every* other cloud is in an lower altitude than NLCs) were moving in.
Sorry for the crappy uban foreground I just had to pick a spot near a small field in walking distance from home.

I have so many nuts and acorns from multiple trees. I don't get them up in the fall, I just blow the leaves off them. The deer and birds and chipmunks and squirrels eat them. The deer eat the nuts and then go to the lake for a drink in the late evening. This was taken from my window at a pretty long distance.

Seaview Transportation number 36 has recently been returned to service and has been primed for a paint job when the weather warms up. This switcher is an EMD SW9 acquired from last owner Pennsylvania Power and Light where it was numbered PPLX 36. Originally blt. Mar. 1951 as Pittsburgh and Lake Erie number 8940 it was sold to the Bangor and Aroostook in 1972 where it spend more than two more decades before being sold for industrial use.
When completed it should look like the design on this sign that greets visitors arriving at the railroad's West Davisville Yard and shop:

I found this image on a memory card I had misplaced. It was taken last Fall in an older residential neighborhood about a mile from where I grew up. As they did almost everyday when the weather was mild, a group of older men had set up chairs on the sidewalk in front of their apartment building . -They were passing the afternoon talking about sports or politics or the latest bit of neighborhood gossip.At times they fell quiet and looked out onto the street just to make sure there was nothing unusual happening. Not surprisingly, the guy on the left spotted me and at first wasn't too happy about my taking a photo.. But it all turned out okay when I explained that I was coming back to take photos of a neighborhood I loved
