The Human Habitat or microcity was also given special consideration to prevent the scientists from experiencing "cabin fever" or any feeling of being trapped. Windows look out over all other parts of the Biosphere, and each Biospherian had a private apartment with an upstairs bedroom and a downstairs sitting room. The bathrooms were equipped with showers and toilets; but shower time was limited to conserve water, and toilet paper was forbidden. Drinking water was collected from moisture produced by the plants in the Biosphere. The Habitat also includes laboratory space, a medical clinic, an exercise room, recreation facilities, and a communications center. Kitchen, cooking, and cleanup duties were all shared. -From Science Encyclopedia, Biosphere Project - Designing Biosphere 2 Read More

History of the City St. Pölten

In order to present concise history of the Lower Austrian capital is in the shop of the city museum a richly illustrated full version on CD-ROM.

Tip

On the occasion of the commemoration of the pogroms of November 1938, the Institute for Jewish History of Austria its virtual Memorbuch (Memory book) for the destroyed St. Pölten Jewish community since 10th November 2012 is putting online.

Prehistory

The time from which there is no written record is named after the main materials used for tools and weapons: Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age. Using the latest technologies, archaeologists from archaeological finds and aerial photographs can trace a fairly detailed picture of life at that time. Especially for the time from the settling down of the People (New Stone Age), now practicing agriculture and animal husbandry, in the territory of St. Pölten lively settlement activity can be proved. In particular, cemeteries are important for the research, because the dead were laid in the grave everyday objects and jewelry, the forms of burial changing over time - which in turn gives the archeology valuable clues for the temporal determination. At the same time, prehistory of Sankt Pölten would not be half as good documented without the construction of the expressway S33 and other large buildings, where millions of cubic meters of earth were moved - under the watchful eyes of the Federal Monuments Office!

A final primeval chapter characterized the Celts, who settled about 450 BC our area and in addition to a new culture and religion also brought with them the potter's wheel. The kingdom of Noricum influenced till the penetration of the Romans the development in our area.

Roman period, migrations

The Romans conquered in 15 BC the Celtic Empire and established hereinafter the Roman province of Noricum. Borders were protected by military camp (forts), in the hinterland emerged civilian cities, almost all systematically laid out according to the same plan. The civil and commercial city Aelium Cetium, as St. Pölten was called (city law 121/122), consisted in the 4th Century already of heated stone houses, trade and craft originated thriving urban life, before the Romans in the first third of the 5th Century retreated to Italy.

The subsequent period went down as the Migration Period in official historiography, for which the settlement of the Sankt Pöltner downtown can not be proved. Cemeteries witness the residence of the Lombards in our area, later it was the Avars, extending their empire to the Enns.

The recent archaeological excavations on the Cathedral Square 2010/2011, in fact, the previous knowledge of St.Pölten colonization not have turned upside down but enriched by many details, whose full analysis and publication are expected in the near future.

Middle Ages

With the submission of the Avars by Charlemagne around 800 AD Christianity was gaining a foothold, the Bavarian Benedictine monastery of Tegernsee establishing a daughter house here - as founder are mentioned the brothers Adalbert and Ottokar - equipped with the relics of St. Hippolytus. The name St. Ypolit over the centuries should turn into Sankt Pölten. After the Hungarian wars and the resettlement of the monastery as Canons Regular of St. Augustine under the influence of Passau St. Pölten received mid-11th Century market rights.

In the second half of the 20th century historians stated that records in which the rights of citizens were held were to be qualified as Town Charters. Vienna is indeed already in 1137 as a city ("civitas") mentioned in a document, but the oldest Viennese city charter dates only from the year 1221, while the Bishop of Passau, Konrad, already in 1159 the St. Pöltnern secured:

A St. Pöltner citizen who has to answer to the court, has the right to make use of an "advocate".

He must not be forced to rid himself of the accusation by a judgment of God.

A St. Pöltner citizen may be convicted only by statements of fellow citizens, not by strangers.

From the 13th Century exercised a city judge appointed by the lord of the city the high and low jurisdiction as chairman of the council meetings and the Municipal Court, Inner and Outer Council supported him during the finding of justice. Venue for the public verdict was the in the 13th Century created new marketplace, the "Broad Market", now the town hall square. Originally square-shaped, it was only later to a rectangle reduced. Around it arose the market district, which together with the monastery district, the wood district and the Ledererviertel (quarter of the leather goods manufacturer) was protected by a double city wall.

The dependence of St. Pölten of the bishop of Passau is shown in the municipal coat of arms and the city seal. Based on the emblem of the heraldic animal of the Lord of the city, so the Bishop of Passau, it shows an upright standing wolf holding a crosier in its paw.

Modern Times

In the course of the armed conflict between the Emperor Frederick III . and King Matthias of Hungary pledged the Bishop of Passau the town on the Hungarian king. From 1485 stood Lower Austria as a whole under Hungarian rule. The most important document of this period is the awarding of the city coat of arms by King Matthias Corvinus in the year 1487. After the death of the opponents 1490 and 1493 could Frederick's son Maximilian reconquer Lower Austria. He considered St. Pölten as spoils of war and had no intention of returning it to the diocese of Passau. The city government has often been leased subsequently, for instance, to the family Wellenstein, and later to the families Trautson and Auersperg.

That St. Pölten now was a princely city, found its expression in the coat of arms letter of the King Ferdinand I. from 1538: From now on, the wolf had no crosier anymore, and the from the viewer's point of view left half showed the reverse Austrian shield, so silver-red-silver.

To the 16th Century also goes back the construction of St. Pöltner City Hall. The 1503 by judge and council acquired house was subsequently expanded, rebuilt, extended and provided with a tower.

A for the urban history research important picture, painted in 1623, has captured scenes of the peasant uprising of 1597, but also allows a view to the city and lets the viewer read some of the details of the then state of construction. The economic inconveniences of that time were only exacerbated by the Thirty Years War, at the end of which a fifth of the houses were uninhabited and the citizenry was impoverished.

Baroque

After the successful defense against the Turks in 1683, the economy started to recover and a significant building boom began. Lower Austria turned into the land of the baroque abbeys and monasteries, as it is familiar to us today.

In St. Pölten, the change of the cityscape is closely connected to the Baroque architect Jakob Prandtauer. In addition to the Baroquisation of the interior of the cathedral, a number of buildings in St. Pölten go to his account, so the reconstruction of the castle Ochsenburg, the erection of the Schwaighof and of the core building of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Englische Fräuleins - English Maidens) - from 1706 the seat of the first school order of St.Pölten - as well as of several bourgeois houses.

Joseph Munggenast, nephew and co-worker of Prandtauer, completed the Baroquisation of the cathedral, he baroquised the facade of the town hall (1727) and numerous bourgeois houses and designed a bridge over the Traisen which existed until 1907. In the decoration of the church buildings were throughout Tyroleans collaborating, which Jakob Prandtauer had brought along from his homeland (Tyrol) to St. Pölten, for example, Paul Troger and Peter Widerin.

Maria Theresa and her son Joseph II: Their reforms in the city of the 18th Century also left a significant mark. School foundings as a result of compulsory education, the dissolution of the monasteries and hereinafter - from 1785 - the new role of St. Pölten as a bishop's seat are consequences of their policies.

1785 was also the year of a fundamental alteration of the old Council Constitution: The city judge was replaced by one magistrate consisting of five persons, at the head was a mayor. For the first mayor the painter Josef Hackl was chosen.

The 19th century

Despite the Napoleonic Wars - St. Pölten in 1805 and 1809 was occupied by the French - and despite the state bankruptcy of 1811, increased the number of businesses constantly, although the economic importance of the city for the time being did not go beyond the near vicinity.

Against the background of monitoring by the state secret police, which prevented any political commitment between the Congress of Vienna and the 1848 revolution, the citizens withdrew into private life. Sense of family, fostering of domestic music, prominent salon societies in which even a Franz Schubert socialized, or the construction of the city theater were visible signs of this attitude.

The economic upswing of the city did not begin until after the revolution of the year 1848. A prerequisite for this was the construction of the Empress Elisabeth Western Railway, moving Vienna, Linz, soon Salzburg, too, in a reachable distance. The city walls were pulled down, St. Pölten could unfold. The convenient traffic situation favored factory start-ups, and so arose a lace factory, a revolver factory, a soap factory or, for example, as a precursor of a future large-scale enterprise, the braid, ribbon and Strickgarnerzeugung (knitting yarn production) of Matthias Salcher in Harland.

In other areas, too, the Gründerzeit (years of rapid industrial expansion in Germany - and Austria) in Sankt Pölten was honouring its name: The city got schools, a hospital, gas lanterns, canalization, hot springs and summer bath.

The 20th century

At the beginning of the 20th Century the city experienced another burst of development, initiated by the construction of the power station in 1903, because electricity was the prerequisite for the settlement of large companies. In particular, the companies Voith and Glanzstoff and the main workshop of the Federal Railways attracted many workers. New Traisen bridge, tram, Mariazell Railway and other infrastructure buildings were erected; St. Pölten obtained a synagogue. The Art Nouveau made it repeatedly into the urban architecture - just think of the Olbrich House - and inspired also the painting, as exponents worth to be mentioned are Ernst Stöhr or Ferdinand Andri.

What the outbreak of the First World War in broad outlines meant for the monarchy, on a smaller scale also St. Pölten has felt. The city was heavily impacted by the deployment of army units, a POW camp, a military hospital and a sick bay. Industrial enterprises were partly converted into war production, partly closed. Unemployment, housing emergency and food shortages long after the war still were felt painfully.

The 1919 to mayor elected Social Democrat Hubert Schnofl after the war tried to raise the standard of living of the people by improving the social welfare and health care. The founding of a housing cooperative (Wohnungsgenossenschaft), the construction of the water line and the establishment of new factories were further attempts to stimulate the stiffening economy whose descent could not be stopped until 1932.

After the National Socialist regime had stirred false hopes and plunged the world into war, St. Pölten was no longer the city as it has been before. Not only the ten devastating bombings of the last year of the war had left its marks, also the restrictive persecution of Jews and political dissidents had torn holes in the structure of the population. Ten years of Russian occupation subsequently did the rest to traumatize the population, but at this time arose from the ruins a more modern St. Pölten, with the new Traisen bridge, district heating, schools.

This trend continued, an era of recovery and modernization made the economic miracle palpable. Already in 1972 was - even if largely as a result of incorporations - exceeded the 50.000-inhabitant-limit.

Elevation to capital status (capital of Lower Austria), 10 July 1986: No other event in this dimension could have become the booster detonation of an up to now ongoing development thrust. Since then in a big way new residential and commercial areas were opened up, built infrastructure constructions, schools and universities brought into being to enrich the educational landscape. East of the Old Town arose the governmental and cultural district, and the list of architects wears sonorous names such as Ernst Hoffmann (NÖ (Lower Austria) Landhaus; Klangturm), Klaus Kada (Festspielhaus), Hans Hollein (Shedhalle and Lower Austrian Provincial Museum), Karin Bily, Paul Katzberger and Michael Loudon ( NÖ State Library and NÖ State Archive).

European Diploma, European flag, badge of honor, Europe Price: Between 1996 and 2001, received St. Pölten numerous appreciations of its EU commitment - as a sort of recognition of the Council of Europe for the dissemination of the EU-idea through international town twinnings, a major Europe exhibition or, for example, the establishment and chair of the "Network of European medium-sized cities".

On the way into the 21st century

Just now happened and already history: What the St. Pöltnern as just experienced sticks in their minds, travelers and newcomers within a short time should be told. The theater and the hospital handing over to the province of Lower Austria, a new mayor always on the go, who was able to earn since 2004 already numerous laurels (Tags: polytechnic, downtown enhancement, building lease scheme, bus concept) - all the recent changes are just now condensed into spoken and written language in order to make, from now on, the history of the young provincial capital in the 3rd millennium nachlesbar (checkable).

DON'T Be a woman... It can help!

24/7 live-in maid sissy barbie locked into a pale lilac satin uniform, also locked into a slave collar and CB.

Close up of the brass padlock through the zip's pull tab and through the two metal rings of the collar. This prevents sissy barbie removing her uniform without permission of Mistress Lady Penelope. Mistress has found this form of discipline highly effective. Only when a long hard day's work has been completed to Mistress' satisfaction might the padlock key and the key to the servant's quarters be given to the maid. Naturally the key to the maid's chastity device is retained by her Mistress. Once sissy barbie has returned to the servant's quarters she can take off her black satin and lace apron and matching pale lilac maid's cap trimmed with black lace, unlock the padlock and remove her uniform. As her petticoat has an attached bodice and shoulder straps, she cannot remove that until the uniform has been removed. After that she removes her pale lilac shoes, stockings, and underwear. Then she can don her nightie and begin her night's sleep, though being a 24/7 live in maid, she is always on call and she may well have to serve her Mistress wearing her nightie.

Sometimes when it is likely she will be called, she is not given the key to the padlock and has to sleep in uniform ready to 'scramble' within seconds of being called to serve. This does tend to flatten her petticoat unfortunately and that has to rectified the following day.

If the maid has been negligent in her duties in any way or does not pass Mistress Lady Penelope's inspection of her work and attire, she will not be given any keys but instead be locked in the sturdy steel cage in Mistress' dungeon as punishment. The cage has a hard floor and is too small for any more than a cat nap. All night the errant maid will be shifting from one uncomfortable position to another in the cold dark dungeon, not knowing the time. She will remain silent to avoid further punishment for waking her Mistress in her nice soft warm bed.

The maid will worry all night that she has angered her Mistress so much that Mistress Lady Penelope might decide to leave her locked up for two nights and the intervening day too. Sissy barbie knows that would be very severe punishment and will do everything humanly possible during her working day to avoid making her Mistress decide to do that. She also worries that perhaps Mistress Lady Penelope might be so busy that Mistress simply forgets to release her. The maid knows she is an insignificant convenience in Mistress Lady Penelope's life, Mistress might very well notice when she does not get her breakfast in bed but then forget that her maid is not cleaning the house, doing the laundry and all the other things she does unseen, Mistress Lady Penelope might get so excited by her social life that she forgets that her maid is locked in a little cage in the dungeon, dutifully remaining silent, not knowing whether it is day or night but acutely feeling the passage of every minute and regretting what she did to be receiving such severe punishment.

Sissy barbie will be waiting to hear her Mistress' footsteps and when she hears them, praying Mistress will come towards the dungeon door, unlock it and turn on the light. The maid will probably cower and quiver in case she is to be punished further, all the time hoping she is to be released, though she knows when that happens she will be required to begin a new days work, after a visit to the bathroom, fluffing out her petticoat and correcting whatever she did wrong the day before. The loss of one night's sleep is bad, but two nights in a row is torture, so the errant maid will be very careful not to risk another and will perform her duties to the letter despite being very weary. She will be extremely grateful to her Mistress for her release. The maid will have lost all track of time and if Mistress Lady Penelope is feeling magnanimous, might tell her maid how long she has been caged.

Mosques with minarets in Vienna? A town commission, which wanted to prevent this - as in Carinthia - could find this a hard nut to crack in Vienna. Because the townscape of the federal capital already contains numerous elements, which were strongly influenced by the Islamic culture. It's not all about buildings like the Islamic Center on Hubertusdamm - Vienna's only structurally recognizable mosque. Even classical Viennese architecture has Islamic features.

The most well-known example is the Saint Charles' Church: with its dome and the two pillars, at first glance, it can actually be held for a Turkish mosque. And this is not so unintentional, explains Claudius Caravias in his latest book "The Mosque on the (very small river) Vienna": Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach was inspired by, among other things, the Suleiman Mosque in Constantinople, today's Istanbul.

Only at second glance does it become apparent that the two belfries are modeled after the Trajan's Column in Rome, and that the portico of the colonnade quotes the Pantheon as well as St. Peter's Basilica. This architectural mixture can be understood, above all, from the wish of the patron Emperor Karl VI, that Vienna, as the residence of the Roman-German emperor, becomes the third Rome besides Western and Eastern Rome (Constantinople) - and the church a symbol of it.

Back pain is pain felt in the back. Episodes of back pain may be acute, sub-acute, or chronic depending on the duration. The pain may be characterized as a dull ache, shooting or piercing pain, or a burning sensation. The pain may radiate into the arms and hands as well as the legs or feet, and may include paresthesia (tingling with no apparent cause), weakness or numbness in the legs and arms. The anatomic classification of back pain follows the segments of the spine: neck pain (cervical), middle back pain (thoracic), lower back pain (lumbar) or coccydynia (tailbone or sacral pain) with the lumbar vertebrae area most common for pain.

The pain may originate from the muscles, nerves, bones, joints or other structures in the vertebral column (spine). Internal structures such as the gallbladder and pancreas may also cause referred pain in the back.

Back pain is common with about nine out of ten adults experiencing it at some point in their life, and five out of ten working adults having it every year. However, it is rare for it to be permanently disabling, and in most cases of herniated disks and stenosis, rest, injections or surgery have similar general pain resolution outcomes on average after one year. In the United States, acute low back pain is the fifth most common reason for physician visits and causes 40% of missed days off work. Additionally, it is the single leading cause of disability worldwide.

Garcelle was born in Haiti. Her mother, Marie-Claire, was a teacher who moved Garcelle and her six older children to Massachusetts after a divorce from her father, Axel, four years prior. At age 16, the family moved again to Miami. At 17, Garcelle pursued a modeling career in New York. She got a break on Aaron Spelling's TV show, "Models Inc." (1994). She then joined L.A.'s comedy troupe, The Groundlings. She became engaged to Mike Nilon, a talent agent. She was formerly married to producer Daniel Saunders for 6-1/2 years with whom she had a son, Oliver (B. 1992).

Growing up in Haiti, Garcelle Beauvais never expected to become a model and an actress.“ I wanted to be a journalist. I didn’t know you could take pictures for a living. I didn’t know people paid you because you’re cute. It never dawned on me.” At the age of 7, Beauvais, who is the youngest of seven siblings, moved to Boston with her family. When she was about to turn 16, the family moved again, this time relocating to Miami to flee Massachusetts’ frigid weather. Soon after moving to Florida, Beauvais’ exotic looks became difficult to ignore. At 5’9, she was frequently told to consider going into modeling. She gave it a try and watched her life get steered on a path she had never before considered.“ I thought I was going to come to LA to UCLA and go to journalism school,” she said during a phone interview on her way home in Los Angeles. Instead, Beauvais became a Ford Model in New York, appearing in campaigns for Avon, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and Clairol, along with catalog appearances for Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom. As her career blossomed, Beauvais appeared on the cover of Ebony and Essence magazines, and she did the runway couture shows of Calvin Klein and Isaac Mizrahi.

BREAKTHROUGH IN ACTING

Before long, Beauvais was also making her mark as an actress. She made her first appearance on television playing a rape victim on “Miami Vice. ” She was then cast as Dr. Huxtable’s nurse on “The Cosby Show. ” She also had parts on several other television shows including “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” “Dream On,” “Hangin' with Mr. Cooper,” “Family Matters,” as well as Aaron Spelling's television show, “Models, Inc. ” More recently, Beauvais became widely recognized for her starring role as Francesca “Fancy” Monroe in “The Jamie Foxx Show,” on the Warner Brothers network. Today, she can be seen regularly, playing assistant district attorney Valerie Haywood on the ABC network’s popular police drama “NYPD Blue. ” Beauvais, 36, has had her share of success in motion pictures as well. She has played numerous roles in a variety of movies including Coming to America” (1988), “Every Breath” (1993), “Wild Wild West” with Will Smith (1999), “Double Take” with Orlando Jones (2001), “Second String” with Jon Voight (made for TV 2000), and “Bad Company” in which she starred opposite Chris Rock and Anthony Hopkins (2002). Currently she is working on several different projects. She has signed on for another 22 episodes of “NYPD Blue. ” She recently completed an episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” for HBO. She has also done a series of one-minute movies for NBC, and she was just offered a part on “Barber Shop 2,” which will start shooting in September.“ Things are good,” she said.“ I can’t complain, but then I could. ”

MAKING IT IN THE BUSINESS

Her success hasn’t always come easily, and she said it continues to be challenging to get coveted roles.“ There’s always rejection in the industry. That’s just the way it is,” said Beauvais.“ For whatever reason it’s not personal, but it’s hard not to make it personal. ” When offering advice to young people interested in pursuing acting as a career, Beauvais believes it’s never too early to learn.“ It’s important to really learn the craft,” she said. Whether it is through an acting school, or by doing little plays at home, school, or with a community theater, Beauvais said it is critical to get some training and “get proper technique. ” But she also warns that success in acting requires a lot of determination.“ It’s really important to persevere because let me tell you, there’s a lot, a lot of rejection no matter what level you’re in,” she said.“ You just have to have thick skin and persevere. ”

LONG TERM PLANS

In the future, Beauvais said she would love to have her own television sitcom, which would allow her to spend time with her family. She also wants to direct at some point, and hopes to eventually have a talk show.“ I would like to be able to do that, and also be at home,” she said. Though Beauvais enjoys making movies, she said she doesn’t want to be too far from her loved ones.“ I don’t really want to be away from my family, if I can say that,” she admits. ” Despite her success on television and on the big screen Beauvais hasn’t written off her interest in journalism completely.“ That’s always my first love because I love talking to people,” she explained.“ I’m curious about life and people. ” To pursue her dream, she is looking into doing a talk show either by herself or with others.

A FEELING OF RESPONSIBILITY

When asked about the negative portrayal of Haitians on the recently released action thriller Bad Boys II, Beauvais said she auditioned for the movie but didn’t get the part. As a result, she wasn’t ready to watch it yet. The movie, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, is a sequel about two narcotics detectives with the Miami Police Department, who are fighting crime and illicit drugs. The film earned $88. 5 million at the box office during its first two weeks, yet it includes negative stereotypes about different ethnic groups, most notably about Haitians. Knowing Will Smith as she does, and having worked with him in the past, Beauvais said the derogatory images of Haitians must have been an oversight.“ He is really a nice guy,” she said.“ I can’t imagine that he would do that blatantly. I really, really can’t,” she said.“ But still, somebody should have caught it in editing,” she added. Beauvais believes that black actors, directors and producers have a certain responsibility regarding the works they release.“ That’s why I have been very picky about the jobs that I take,” she said.“ I’m not going to play a hoochie mama. I’m not going to play any roles that are going to degrade me, or not look right for my son. I think it’s my responsibility for that, in terms of what I choose to do. ” Beauvais admits that having a recurring role on “NYPD Blue,’ which she calls her “day job,” allows her the freedom of being selective about the roles she chooses.“ If I were just starting out, maybe I’d do those things, but I don’t know. Right now I don’t think I would. ”

PRIDE IN HAITIAN HERITAGE

In addition to her busy career, Beauvais is mother to 12-year-old Oliver. She has been married to theatrical agent Mike Nilon for two years, and hopes they will have more children. Despite all of the many demands in her life, Beauvais still makes time for causes that are important to her. Recently she traveled to Washington D. C. to advocate for Haitian refugees who have been detained indefinitely after arriving in Miami.“ I took my son with me, which was really great for him to see,” she said.“ We went up to Capitol Hill and we spoke in front of a forum just to show them the different ways that the Haitians and the Cubans are treated. ” Beauvais said acclaimed Haitian author Edwige Danticat was also there. Together they discussed the disparities that currently exist and the need to get a bill passed to prevent double standards in the way Haitian refugee cases are handled.“ The fact that Haitian families are being separated, some are going to Krome [Detention Center], some are going to motels, it shouldn’t happen,” she said. With most of her family living in the United States, Beauvais doesn’t get to travel to Haiti much. Nevertheless, she said she would love to go back to visit, and hopes to have an opportunity to do so in the future, since Essence Magazine is interested in doing a photo shoot there. Staying connected with her Haitian roots has always been important to Beauvais, she explained.“ That’s why I’ve never shied away from saying I was Haitian from day one,” she said. Throughout her modeling career, Beauvais said she met many models who would try to conceal their Haitian heritage, and instead identified themselves as being part Spanish.“ I never thought it was a bad thing to say. I was proud of being from Haiti,” she said.“ My family is Haitian. My son is half Haitian. It’s part of who I am. ”

Designed 1578 by the legendary architect SINAN

"The Privy Chamber of Murat III (III. Murad Has Odası) is the oldest and finest surviving room in the harem, having retained its original interior. It was a design of the master architect Sinan and dates from the 16th century. Its dome is only slightly smaller than that of the Throne Room. Its hall has one of the finest doors of the palace and leads past the wing of the crown princes (Kafes). The room is decorated with blue-and-white and coral-red İznik tiles. The rich floral designs are framed in thick orange borders of the 1570s. A band of inscriptional tiles runs around the room above the shelf and door level. The large arabesque patterns of the dome have been regilded and repainted in black and red. The large fireplace with gilded hood (ocak) stands opposite a two-tiered fountain (çeşme), skilfully decorated in coloured marble. The flow of water was meant to prevent any eavesdropping, while providing a relaxed atmosphere to the room. The two gilded baldachin beds date from the 18th century.

I've recently seen two instances of this rather simple error in magazines that I highly admire. (Yes, I read a lot about public space, public finance, etc.) Please, do it.

The 6 second break-in method is a technique that burglars use to gain access into almost any garage that is not protected. The intruder pushes in the top panel of the garage, they then use a coat hangar to activate the emergency release mechanism. This allows them to open your garage with ease and access your vehicles and door to the inside of your home. The Garage Door Armor unit will block the intruder's attempts to get inside of your home using this common method. Lock your garage down today with Garage Door Armor.

Cycloastragenol: Preserve Your DNA, Boost Your Vitality, Prevent Early Aging and Extend Your Lifespan with Nature’s Fountain of Youth

Learn about the do’s and don’t of cycloastragenol and how it can help you preserve your DNA, helping to keep you young and vital for many decades.

The Nobel prize for science in 2009 went to a team at UCLA for their work in showing that aging is essentially what happens when our DNA strands get split ends, start to unravel and shorten in length. When the end of our DNA strands slowly unravels and the length shortens, cell replication becomes less and less precise.

They evidenced that shortened telomeres in our DNA strands are really the fundamental underlying cause for aging and degenerative disease.

Telomerase is the body’s natural way of maintaining the health of the ends of the strands of DNA. And usually somewhere in our 30s, the body stops producing enough natural telomerase and our DNA begins to shorten in length, thus the slow crawl of aging begins.

Of course, pharmaceutical companies have been researching ways to extend shortened telomeres and prevent them from shrinking, but it turns out that nature has already created a perfect compound to replace telomerase in the roots of astragalus.

Cycloastragenol is a nearly identical analogue to the natural telomerase in our body, which means it has the exact same DNA preserving effects. Studies have already been done showing that cycloastragenol can be profoundly beneficial in preserving the length of our telomeres.

But don’t just go taking cycloastragenol!

For starters, make sure you are around 40 years old or older.

You never want to take cycloastragenol before your telomerase starts to naturally decline. This is not a supplement for vitality. This is not a tonic for youthful vigor and strength. Concentrated cycloastragenol is basically telomerase, which you need to keep your DNA healthy. But if you take this supplement when you’re young, your body may stop producing its own.

Further, even if you are over 40, then you need to take it carefully.

It can make you very ill if you take too much, and especially if you take a lot with a full stomach. Its really best to lick your finger and dip it into the powder and dissolve a small amount of powder in your mouth on an empty stomach. You let your saliva digest it in your mouth, and swallow it back only once it is all liquid and tasteless, and drink some water afterward as well.

This is a good way to take it at first, and you can gradually build up to more. You may want to this daily if you in your 50s, 60s or 70s, as this will greatly help to preserve the length of your telomeres.

Cycloastragenol is being ignored by the mainstream medical industry and pharmaceutical companies especially -likely because they cannot patent it.

And so far there really are no effective drugs on the market to lengthen or preserve telomeres.

Now, Stanford can perform a surgery which does the trick, and they have actually managed to re-extend shortened telomeres, “reversing the clock” so to speak, with a new RNA technique. This is beyond the prowess of cycloastragenol, which preserves telomeres but does not re-lengthen them.

Despite the success of this experimental surgery at Stanford, there are still no pharmaceutical drugs on the market to re-lengthen telomeres, nor to preserve them.

And maybe that’s really for the best, I think, after all pharmaceuticals are notorious for unwanted side effects and unknown long-term complications.

And moreover, why create a chemical drug when nature has already provided the perfect solution? Oh yeah…. because you can’t patent it!

Really the only caveat with cycloastragenol is that it a whole lot more expensive than most natural supplements. But when you compare it with the cost of surgery at Stanford or the probable price of a comparative pharmaceutical product…well then it looks very cheap indeed.

You know, for someone in their late 30s or 40s, a hundred dollars worth is enough to last a year, as you really only need to take tiny amounts.

If you are in your 50s or 60s, then you may want to invest closer to $1000 a year on these products, as natural telomerase declines very steadily after 40. Even at $1000 a year, or around $85 a month, cycloastragenol is well worth the investment into preserving the integrity of the most fundamental and important part of our bodies, our DNA itself.
