The plum blossom has been an important symbol in Chinese culture. As a “friend of winter,” the plum blossom most vividly represents the value of endurance, as life ultimately overcomes through the vicissitude of time. The fragrance of plum blossoms “comes from the bitterness and coldness,” as the Chinese saying goes. Souls are tempered in the depth of experience, growing in inner strength and unyielding courage.
Unity of culture and nature has been an important part of the Chinese tradition, and elements of nature embody important cultural values. The plum, together with the orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum, have been named the “four nobles” of plants by the ancient Chinese, each because of its noble characteristics, such as purity (orchid), uprightness (bamboo), and humility (chrysanthemum). Lucinda's so pretty in pink. I wish the quality of the photos can be better. I plan to spray matte her this weekend. She'll be more photogenic when her face's not that shiny.

Sahana, a friend's daughter, sitting pretty on a table at the Festival of India 2012 in Richmond, VA. She apparently has a particular aversion to the male gender, apart from her father, and so I had to make do with taking her pictures from a distance, to which she clearly did not object.
The Psychedelic Furs are an English rock band founded in 1977.[1] Led by singer Richard Butler and his brother Tim on bass guitar, the Psychedelic Furs are one of the many acts spawned from the British post-punk scene. Their music went through several phases, from an initially austere art rock sound, later touching on New Wave and hard rock.
They scored several hits in their early career, but were launched to international attention in 1986 when the film director John Hughes borrowed their song title "Pretty in Pink" for his movie of the same name. A newly recorded version of the song became the Psychedlic Furs' biggest hit to that time. "Heartbreak Beat" from their 1987 album Midnight to Midnight, was to be the Furs' biggest Top 40 entry in the US.
The Psychedelic Furs went on hiatus in 1991, and the Butler brothers formed a new band called Love Spit Love. The Psychedelic Furs later regrouped in 2001 and continue to perform around the world.

We found this at several stops in the Kunigami and I even found one in a small restaurant I frequent in Naha. It's an old rotary dial pay phone! The coin slot is on top...only 10 Yen. And it's huge! Probably as big as many rice cookers. Imagine if this were the state of the art for cell phones. I think you'd get a hernia lugging this thing around all day.
My Aunt Patricia and my mom,(ex-sisters-in-law!) relaxing at Lake Ponca Park. I loved how they dressed alike without planning it :)
Our TLC 'Pretty in Pink' range but in red, gold & cream! The two-tone rose swirls also look great in the collection.
Nasara chose 5 flavours - lemon, raspberry & white chocolate, chocolate, red velvet, and the top cake was vanilla!
I didn't get to do the setup so I assembled this at home to get a shot of them all as I thought they were a beautiful collection!
