Em and her pointer fingers

for the pretty in pink screening, people were encouraged to either wear pink clothing, or come in 80's prom attire. soupy wore a pink top, and then later also added this pink hair band... thingy. i checked all my clothing but alas, i don't own any pink clothing.

this would have looked fine without the selective coloring i think... but c'mon... pink was the theme! i had to...

my photos were featured in a recent laist article about this event.

Today was 1985 again. I put on a pink poofy skirt and made my hair big. By the way, Ducky rocked! (I know all you 80's girls have seen the movie "Pretty In Pink"!)

Before and after sure makes a big difference, doesn’t it? Even simple looks super.

Our TLC 'Pretty in Pink' range but in red, gold & cream! The two-tone rose swirls also look great in the collection.

Nasara chose 5 flavours - lemon, raspberry & white chocolate, chocolate, red velvet, and the top cake was vanilla!

I didn't get to do the setup so I assembled this at home to get a shot of them all as I thought they were a beautiful collection!

ON EBAY SOON!

This is my Molly Ringwald doll I created from the classic movie, Pretty in pink! I recast a doll head that had similar facial features in lighter plastic, gave her new hair, sewed her 2 outfits from the movie, repainted her facial features, and gave her a new body. What do you think?

I still can't believe it's been 20 years. I watched the movie again today and saw the extras. I always wondered why Andrew McCarthy's hair looked SO bad at the end prom scene. IT WAS A WIG. He was doing a war play in NY, and he shaved his hair for that part... when they stopped the filming "Pretty in Pink" for 6 months to try and decide about the ending. It was supposed to end like the book, Andie goes off with Duckie and dances with him, but she didn't like Duckie that way and it was apparent, also she was sick, and couldn't continue filming the dance scene because she kept getting sick... so they changed the ending to the way it is now. I didn't know this, because I didn't read the book.

Anyway, I uploaded some of the additional footage off the dvd for you to see if you want...

i dressed up as molly last year for halloween. not sure what i'm doing this year.

A friend brought his daughter around to be photographed today. Pippy was a delightful model. Such fun we had! (To get her to look at the camera, I had a toy elephant balanced on my head!)

Pretty fun overall. They are doing a couple more screenings of Shaun of the Dead and Fight Club in the following weeks. Probably won't get to make it but it was good to go at least once this summer.

So I attended the Hollywood Outdoor Cinema in Silver Lake tonight (in the Circuit City parking lot) for a screening of Pretty in Pink. It was quite coincidental timing with John Hughes' passing but it's a classic 80s movie. Now I wanna watch Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller's Day Off again...and Sixteen Candles! Fun night overall.

She looks a little statue breaking out of her enclosure, doesn't she?

Cannibal Twins

Elma and Tweety were siamese twins

whose appetite could be equated as sin.

Once they ran out of parents and uncles and kind aunts

they turned on each other! chomp chomp chomping away.

But for self preservation, since the two were just one,

they took turns with the needle and sewed those lips shut.

I used Kim Klassen's texture "Take Heart". It really brought out the greens!

i thought i was following the "pretty in pink" tank top pattern by Amanda Reed, but i was extremely preoccupied by a singularly stressful thing that happened and ended up with a completely different neckline-- thus, perplexed in purple.
