The ground cover rose 'Palmengarten Frankfurt' is a robust small shrub rose. It grows quickly and branches out well. The rose reaches a diameter of 70 to 80 cm in the second year (and if you are not paying attention, it will take over the garden completely 😂). Even without a strong flower scent, 'Palmengarten Frankfurt' attracts busy insects pretty well.

While the idea was fresh in my mind i thought I'd do the high key version of yesterday's image.Feeling mighty guilty for picking these geranium flowers though.

This time I used the Lensbaby Edge 80 with the +2 macro filter

We're past the halfway point, well done everyone.

Potentilla 'Miss Wilmott' in my garden in Wigan, Lancs. They're very pretty but the devil to get a good photo of! The petals are very reflective so they always get overexposed unless you deliberately underexpose and edit later to restore the proper colour (I didn't just tell you that :)) I got in close to blur the peals and focus your eye on the centre of the flower

Geranium-laden windows like this are common in nearby Alsace FR. IMO they are especially charming in Alsace's old half-timbered (à colombages) homes like the one captured here.

FWIW - My caption commemorates the 35th anniversary of the film "Pretty in Pink" (link below). It is a 1986 USA cult-classic romantic comedy-drama. The film is about love and social cliques in American high schools in the 1980s. It especially resonated with me (and still does) because in 1986, my kids were 20, 17 and 15. (BTW, they were good kids and became really nice grownups. That's to their credit, not mine.)
