I have been missing my travel photos lately so here is one that caught my eye in Haight St., San Francisco. May this bring colors to your Sunday, my dear Flickr friends, wherever you are!!!

We've had a lot of rain this week....

Along with that... a lot of grey monochrome misty skies...

To the point where the city has struggled to peek through it's white haze...

Even Rangitoto has struggled to peek over the top of it's encroaching blanket...

But on Wednesday there was a soft colourful hue...

To beak this thick blanket drabness of Winter...

Got to savour it while you can don't you! %-)

Auckland City...

Pretty in Pink...

Isn't She...?

I'm sorry I've been MIA since last Friday.....I've been as busy as an ant at a picnic!!

I will try and pop in from time to time when and if I can.....maybe (Fence) Friday?! lol ;o)

Sarah and Suzy, I am well, thank you for asking!!

I just have a few projects on the go that require my undivided attention!

Take care everyone, talk to you soon!

Please don't feel you have to comment on this post; I just wanted to let you know I'm still in the land of the living!!

That’s what popped into my head when I saw this…for some reason I imagined Blane handing Andie a flower, as if it were a scene from the 80’s movie Pretty in Pink…don’t know what Duckie would have thought about this!

They are insects with a scientific name - Apis mellifera.

A honey bee can fly for up to six miles, and as fast as 15 miles per hour, hence it would have to fly around 90,000 miles - three times around the globe - to make one pound of honey.

The queen bee lives for about 2-3 years and is the only bee that lays eggs. She is the busiest in the summer months, when the hive needs to be at its maximum strength, and lays up to 2500 eggs per day. (Every woman's nightmare)

The male honey bees are called drones, and they do no work at all, have no stinger, all they do is mating. (Every man's dream job)

Each honey bee colony has a unique odour for members' identification.

How cool is it

to be pretty in pink,

and relaxing on a tea cup?

Like Totally Awesomely Fun Baby Shower for my old friend, Kacie.

See, Kacie and I became friends in the 7th grade. Apparently she was too cool for me when she transferred into our 6th grade class. We were full-on children of the 80s and have the bad hair photos to prove it.

Kacie LOVED the movie "Pretty in Pink." When I say "love" I mean L-O-V-E-D. As in, saw it at the theater every day for solid week and then about 957 times after that.

So, naturally, when I found out she was having a girl and several other old Jr. High friends could attend the shower, it was a no-brainer to me to try and combine all those things into one sophisticated yet fun 80s baby shower. I know. 80s? Sophisticated? You're thinking oxymoron, too, eh?

Get your oversized glasses with the gold initial stickers in the corner on and take a gander at these. Just make sure you take that huge comb out of your back pocket before you sit on it.

ON EBAY SOON!

This is my Molly Ringwald doll I created from the classic movie, Pretty in pink! I recast a doll head that had similar facial features in lighter plastic, gave her new hair, sewed her 2 outfits from the movie, repainted her facial features, and gave her a new body. What do you think?

These pink gerbera daisies are so pretty!

All the roses are beginning to fade but this rose bush was still full of colour

Another day in the bathroom with my sexy lingerie and pretty feet

At Liverpool's world record breaking "Very Big Catwalk" fashion event

I went to the Illuminate Yaletown festival Saturday night to take images of the projections onto buildings, but ended up instead using the interesting reflected light to take photos of photographers taking photos...

She is rich, she is a snob, she is dumb, and worst of all she is fake. But the boys still want to be close to Paris Eggton.

Part of a new photo shoot, and better shots of my "pretty in pink" outfit I wore a month ago up in Sacramento, CA

Photog note: I've been going through and uploading some past photos; some were posted previously here at Flickr and others that were parts of a set that for whatever reason, were passed by. The difference is that now I'm using an improved editing workflow and software that's allowed for significant improvements over what I'd been working with previously, ones that help to render more color-accurate and contrast corrected images (ones captured with the 20D). My new 5D's far easier to work with IMO with minimal if not any image editing required in a majority of instances. I'm looking forward to getting to those 2012/13 photos in the not too distant future... oh what fun!
