I went for an early Christmas gathering with my family in Ohio and returned Christmas Eve. This is my niece Kadence.

if you were more than a toddler in the 80s, you know why this place was so great. it wasn't polka dotted or floral or traditional. it wasn't like your house or the house of anyone you knew - not even tv families had a place this cool
i first saw and shot a flower like this over two years ago..i think it will always be one of my faves to shoot..taken in kananaskis, ab this weekend :)

Der große Auftritt dieser Blüte ist wegen dem vielen Regen leider stark gefährdet.
Weil sich die Blüten vieler Pfingstrosen und zahlreicher Rosen ziemlich ähneln und weil der Blühzeitpunkt um Pfingsten liegt, hat die Pflanze ihren Namen bekommen.

We've had a lot of rain this week....
Along with that... a lot of grey monochrome misty skies...
To the point where the city has struggled to peek through it's white haze...
Even Rangitoto has struggled to peek over the top of it's encroaching blanket...
But on Wednesday there was a soft colourful hue...
To beak this thick blanket drabness of Winter...
Got to savour it while you can don't you! %-)

This is my Molly Ringwald doll I created from the classic movie, Pretty in pink! I recast a doll head that had similar facial features in lighter plastic, gave her new hair, sewed her 2 outfits from the movie, repainted her facial features, and gave her a new body. What do you think?
Like Totally Awesomely Fun Baby Shower for my old friend, Kacie.
See, Kacie and I became friends in the 7th grade. Apparently she was too cool for me when she transferred into our 6th grade class. We were full-on children of the 80s and have the bad hair photos to prove it.
Kacie LOVED the movie "Pretty in Pink." When I say "love" I mean L-O-V-E-D. As in, saw it at the theater every day for solid week and then about 957 times after that.
So, naturally, when I found out she was having a girl and several other old Jr. High friends could attend the shower, it was a no-brainer to me to try and combine all those things into one sophisticated yet fun 80s baby shower. I know. 80s? Sophisticated? You're thinking oxymoron, too, eh?
Get your oversized glasses with the gold initial stickers in the corner on and take a gander at these. Just make sure you take that huge comb out of your back pocket before you sit on it.
