Happy New Year!
Entrance of Latvian National Museum of Art
The Latvian National Museum of Art is the most important art museum in Latvia and the first building in the Baltics designed specifically for the needs of a museum. Built in 1905. The museum's building is an architectural monument of national significance. It is one of the most impressive historicist buildings in the Riga Boulevard Circle. Following the reconstruction from 2013 to 2016, a new permanent exposition, Latvian Art. 19th–20th Century, has been created. It presents an overview of Latvian art history over the course of two centuries. The aim of the exposition is to build a visual and emotional story of the development of Latvian art by highlighting the most important works and personalities in culture-historical, political and social context.

🎼 Avril Lavigne - Bad Girl (feat. Marilyn Manson)" 🎼
"Choke me because I said so
Stroke me and feed my ego
I've been a bad girl, don't you know?
(Don't tell me what to do)
Come get it now or never
I'll let you do whatever
I'll be your bad girl, here we go
(One, two, three, four)
Miss me, miss me, now you wanna kiss me
Baby
You know I want a little taste, taste
So let me take you all the way, way
You know you'll never be the same, same
One night
You won't forget the rest of your life
So come on over to the wild side
Buckle up and, baby, hold on tight
Miss me, miss me, now you wanna kiss me
We both know that you love me 'cause I'm so bad
(You f*ckin' bad girl)"
Yes, I know: I'm late with this photo but it is the only missing photo I needed to complete the challenge of the One A Week group I'm a member of: to post one photo for each week of the year. So this is my 52nd photo, taken on Christmas Day 2022!
(If you feel like joining the group - now called One A Week 2023 - please do)
In my photo you can see the Christmas presents I got: roses, hyacinths and a vintage Royal Doulton figurine called 'Christmas Parcels'. The snowman is a favourite Christmas decoration I've known since my childhood.
Wrapping the gifts is usually, for me, a very boring activity. But this Christmas I am enjoying it a lot.

We celebrated Jasper's 4th birthday today (actual birthday is Tuesday). He knows the words "presents" and "birthday" so he was pretty excited when we told him that it was his birthday and he was getting presents. You could almost hear, see and smell all the excitement synapses firing in his brain. We're big on dog birthdays. A couple of shots of our previous Aussie Syd's birthday in the comments.
