I've been watching herons in this tree since January, so it will be sad to see this last set of chicks go. They have been flapping away, getting ready to wing out into the big, wide world. Great blue herons, Siskiyou County, California

This is just one of the many props I have at my studio- I also have other scenes available and can shoot wherever you like.
It is in village Cha, a very remote place in Zanskar. Entire Zanskar remains cut off from the mainland during November to April and in winter temperature drops below minus 50 deg celcius,
Stocking food, fodder and woods is essential for survival.
A lady was roasting millet for winter stock.

Ramu Chaudhury , a carpenter by profession was applying a fresh coating of tar on his country made boat which he uses it in his off time for fishing . He said that he bought it for Rs 10,000/- from some fisherman who left for his village where he will make a new one for the approaching monsoon season.

Oso and Bernard are preparing for their fishing vacation to Alaska. Oso knitted herself this hat (actually by the wonderful Jiajia) to get ready for the cold weather. :)
(This will actually be how Oso meets Dolce. Dolce is an Inuit.)
House of Fraser, within the Chapelfield Shopping Complex in Norwich reminded me of a rocket about to be blasted into space. Must have been something in my coffee!
Here's a Northwestern Crow (Corvus caurinus). It likes to take the food it has found and dunk it in the neighbours gutter. It leaves it there until it is soft enough to eat. Clever Bird! Depending on what it is will determine how long it's left in the water! Clever Bird!
