Me and my friend spent so much time just looking at these prairie dogs and taking pictures of them. They kept walking up to us, even bumping in to my camera.
I especially like this picture because of the fluffly prairie dog in the background. I didn't even notice the little guy when I took this picture, so this made me laugh when I was looking at my pictures at home.

My first ever Prairie Kingsnake - about 36" long. Photo taken in field 3/4 mile south of Kansas Speedway.
Kingsnakes are known for eating other snakes, including venomous snakes. They shake their tails when threatened even though they don't have any rattles like a rattlesnake.

Tim Youngquist of Iowa State University (left) with Larry and Margaret Stone at their prairie strips near Traer, IA. This is a first year of growth after frost seeding in the winter of 2015. Prairie plants are coming but have been mowed to keep weeds down.

Prairie Dog Town is located on the western part of the Wichita Wild Life Refuge. Northwest of Lawton/Ft. Sill area
Prairie Dog photographed at the Capital of Texas Zoo in Bastrop Texas. Was so happy to see that they had a free range colony of them. The zoo owner said he started with 7 and now has over 200.
