Sandsage Prairie in Kansas can only be found along the Arkansas and Cimarron River corridors in southwest Kansas. A really beautiful plant community. This was my first time seeing Cimarron River Sandsage Prairie. Similar to the Arkansas Sandsage but flower composition is slightly different . I notice that this river's prairie seems a bit more diverse than the Sandsage along the Arkansas River. Flowers are exploding this year along both river corridors due to all of the moisture.
