Another practice hexagon, using left-overs from the Sunburst afghan, while I'm still waiting for the yarn I ordered for this project to arrive.
Glad this one is just for practice as there are not one but two mistakes in here - one of them stayed, but I had to rip back the outer round most of the way and try again to correct the second.
[Day 78/365 - 2009-03-19]
Admittedly, this is a very new genre of photography for me and it has been very much a practice & learn type of thing but I am enjoying it. That being said, I will be doing a huge project coming up and I would sure love to learn it well before that happens, so I can be at my utmost best and give the company a great resulting product. Constructive critique is requested and very much welcome. Please do not simply comment with compliments - I'd rather hear what you would say if you were judging it for a competition and you knew I couldn't hear you. Believe me - I can take it. I would have gotten this far in my photography without some super tough mentors so let me know how I can become better.
Practice makes perfect, right?
As I ate six of them for breakfast, though (glutton) I'm calling them popovers. It's the same recipe, anyway.
The red-tail hawk fledglings from Swallows Park take to the skies and circle above me, showing off their flying abilities. You can read about this nesting adventure on my blog post
We were very surprised to see a tightrope walker practicing at Pedro Point! He fell once while we watched but didn't go far thanks to his safety harness. Below him you can make out Arroyo Trail. No net. No balance pole either.
Practicing my panning in London on a sunny and unseasonably warm saturday in February. Wheels of fire....
Still trying to learn the camera. This was the only salvageable picture. A dead vine at a health food restaurant. Exciting.

Medical Friendly Shelter Full Scale Exercise 2018
The City held a full-scale exercise of the Medically Friendly Shelter (MFS) designed to establish a learning environment for participants to exercise their MFS operational plans.
The exercise served as a practical walk through of planning, operational coordination, operational communication, logistics and supply chain management, public health, healthcare, and emergency medical services
The MFS is only activated for a Category 2 or greater hurricane or as directed by the City Manager. The MFS is for people who, during periods of evacuation or emergency, require sheltering assistance due to physical, mental or cognitive impairment, or a sensory disability that exceeds the basic level of care provided at a general population shelter, but does not require the level of care provided at a skilled medical facility. This includes help with administering medication, personal hygiene assistance with activities of daily living (washing, dressing and eating).
