A reminder from the 1990's is seen in this view of a faded National Power liveried HTA 300603, which along with about 5 others was on the rear of a Drax to Tunstead working on 23rd December 2014. When new these HTA's were paired with new National Power liveried Class 59/2's and were a common sight in the West Yorkshire coalfield.

A vegetation fire on a hill south of Orcutt on Friday afternoon was quickly contained to less than 20 acres and likely sparked when a bird struck power lines.
These are some of the powerline towers that run along highway 99 just before you get to White Rock and the US boarder...on the north side of the highway. I like the way they look in B&W. They are a major power highway(each tower carries 12 lines)...and I believe part of the grid that run into the US. Oh and as you can see they are used for communication antennae as well.
