Paramount Pictures contacted SRS - Stone Restoration Services - Detroit (based out of Troy, Michigan) about cleaning the floor of the depot to try and bring out as much color as possible.
They did three samples but in the end the studio decided to try a different, albeit cheaper route.
Gregg from SRS reported however that the tests were very successful in bringing out the former luster in the flooring and was very optimistic about restoring the floor even ten years from now which would leave the depot abandoned for 30 years.
And then he would empty the dirt into a small plastic garbage bag. I just couldn't help feeling that in the twenty-first century, there has to be a better technology for the purpose. Like a shovel.

Ah yes, the fake Burlington Coat Factory entrance to Coliseum Mall. (Hampton, VA). This is where the Montgomery Wards used to be until 2001. I think if you can really look you can see the Wards label scar, I can't tell. Like they tried to powerwash over it or something.
It doesn't help that this is the entrance that faces the busiest road in Hampton, good job, Copernicus!
