I've never seen one like this.

Some of the last wooden crossarms to be used on a Cleco deadend. I kind of like the way this one looks.

Electric Powerlines

Location: Near Stourton.

A pair of footy boots I found hanging from some powerlines. There was actually another pair of shoes close by as well.

2 suspension pylons

a 380kV (the large one)

and a 150kV line (smaller one)

This is a new substation going up. My guess is that the 138 and 69kv line will tap into this one.

An older Entergy line that was upgraded to accomodate the new substation

This plant was completed in 2002. It was erected adjacent to Entergy's existing 500kv substation that had two Cleco Circuits and 6 Entergy's Circuits (including the 500kv) connecting. It is now Cleco's largest powerplant.

Obviously there is editing on this, I was just having fun playing around with this shot.

Recently first attempt at long exposures, cable release+tree stump. Dusty smudges up top are in fact stars...

Braces at the top of the LUS circuit.

A friend of mine (an older fellow) is in Iraq training Iraqian police. He sends photos from time to time. This one made me think Preston Hwy in Okolona doesn't look so bad afterall. I could hardly believe they were powerlines, so I doublechecked with my friend. He said he didn't notice the "thing" caught in the wires until he took the photo. I thought it was a small boy!

This was shot at f/16 I believe. SUPER sharp as you might imagine. See 100% crop below.

Did this also in my photo challenge (road) detour. These powerlines are pretty common.

With another recloser.

this photo appears in ' COME-BACK FROG ', available to buy from my on-line bookstore at BLURB
