Pelton Water Wheel at North Star Mine Museum and Power House in Grass Valley, CA. 10 feet in diameter, ran at 327 revolutions per minute, weighs 26,000 pounds and when operating, produced 71,000 horsepower. Now that is amazing!!!

Now that is amazing!!! This is just 1/2 of the cup that the water sprays into. The splitter in the center helps to make the water spray more efficient.

The first dam that is used in the White Nile is located close to Jinja, just a few kilometers from the source of the White Nile. The hydro-electric power plant that is the only source of power for the region is located in another part of this dam.
