High tension cables coming from the High Dam of Aswan. The 12 hydro-electric genrerators built behind the dam used to supply 50% of the power demand of the country in the sixties. Today they only cover around 10% of the country's demand.

this was on the ground, collection of power cables of various sizes, I found a pc power supply and a few pc power cable adaptors in there, my dad doesnt understand solid state electronics, he did however spend 5 months fixing a photocopier he found on the street during solid rubbish week. He got me to download the manual from the "intranet" .. it works, although dad probably inhaled enough toner to kill an ox.

The Usk valley.
The River Usk (Welsh: Afon Wysg) rises in the Carmarthen Fans mountains or Fan Brycheiniog of mid-Wales, in the westernmost part of the Brecon Beacons National Park then flows south-east through Brecon , Crickhowell, Abergavenny and the eponymous town of Usk past the Roman legionary fortress of Caerleon, through the heart of Newport and into the Severn estuary at Uskmouth beyond Newport.
This image was taken from the front porch at my eldest daughters house, in her street they still have the old power lines running across the streets to the houses. This looks so odd to me because where I live they are all running underground these days. Ironic thing is .... I only live a few minuets down the road from her.
