This medium-sized shrub is spectacular when in flower. The blooms are brilliant red and really stand out. The foilage is also attractive with light green kidney shaped leaflets, appearing in pairs. This particular variety grows approximately six to seven feet and is always in bloom. For those interested in bright colours, this is a must.

The flowers open 9 to 10 months out of the year (often resting in midwinter) and remain for 6 to 8 weeks, their unusual form and bold color attracting attention despite the plant's small stature. 1 to 2 inches across, these blooms offer a nice foil to the soft green leaves of this 10 to 14-inch-high tree. Outdoors, the flowers are butterfly magnets, their nectar attracting many winged visitors.

This is the subframe that supports the sheetmetal top of this table. Since this table is an outdoor table going to Austin, Texas, I have powder coated certail elements of this table build.

Since this part of the table is out of sight when the table is upright and installed, I thought a candy-apple red was in order. Its really a beautiful color. As with all my tables, I finish out and pay attention to detail in all areas, even the ones no one usually ever sees like the underside of the table. I've been doing this long before I knew who Christian Louboutin was :)

I'm not sure whether this was carved from bone or antler. It was found in the pocket of a very old shirt, rolled up in a trunk, in an attic, in Marseilles, Illinois.

This is a land art "doodle" I did the other night. Land art doodles are quick, fun and they can lead to great ideas for bigger projects. (this one gave me some ideas, I'm hoping I can show you soon if I can find the time) I got the doodle idea from a contact that does some of the best doodles I've seen.

I didn't want to spend to much time in the cold the other night but I did want to do some land art with the snow we just got so I thought a doodle would be perfect. The snow was very powdery and it wouldn't pack together so I found a stick and started drawing in the snow. If I used the stick like a pencil it would make little piles of snow so I used a pointillism technique to minimize it.The pattern reminds me of coral.
