This ruffled pendant is made from Katoclay stretch thin in my pasta machine. Her you can see how I threaded a medium coated steel beading wire through the folds. Trying to decide what to do with it, I found that was very pliable and folded easily. I used black embossing powder before baking and used 600 grit sandpaper to polish off "just enough' after it had cured. The edges are treated with gold guilders paste and the final polish is Renaissance Wax.
Monday was bright and sunny, with some 30 cm of fresh powder. Shot near the top of the Pioneer chair, above the run Downshift.

A month after CSX dolled it up, L&N 7067 wears it's Family Lines paint once more after rotting in the deadlines in Huntington in it's green and white Marshall University scheme, the only aspect that saved it from the scrap heap like it's C30-7 sister units. We visited KSHC one afternoon to see it for ourselves, given permission by one of the volunteers to get up close and personal for a few photos. She sure looked nice, and you could still smell the paint.
Duxbury Bay and the Powder Point Bridge, low tide, and the sun is gone for the day. Note the lighthouse building in the center of the image, it's actually a private home and was never an aide to navigation.

Empty coal trains are lined up nose to tail on the Orin Subdivision all trying to get into the mines for loading.
3/97 COOMBE END (east side,off) Powderhouse, 120m east in field (at 6851 5523) II Powderhouse, Circa 1870. Rubble, brick, stone slabs, bitumen, concrete, steel. 3 metre by 2 metre rectangle divided into 2 cells. A simple gabled building, all rubble walls, plain opening in east gable has riveted steel door and frame, triple skin roof of stone slabs, then thick bitumen, then concrete. Interior: brick lined and vaulted, inset timber plates to fix timber lining which has now gone, cross wall with plain opening, sleeper walls but floor missing. East end faces inclined plane which ran down to Coombe End and Middle Pit Radstock for which the powderhouse was built.
I wanted to do the powder shot so many times. Only managed to do this yesterday.
