The arrival of the Hindu New Year (2026) is celebrated with abandon. Besides dancing and other performances, it is common to spray and smear each other with (washable) paint, powder and water. All in good community fun. I took these photos in Amsterdam-Bijlmer, where many (Surinam) Hindu's live.

Powder Puff and her litter were found in a good Samaritan's yard, but the kittens were wild. They have been worked with and are now well socialized.
