Just as a crucial tip exposes Hexi Pharma, a local firm’s culpability, the firm’s owner dies under mysterious circumstances and the health minister quietly resigns amid the uproar -but this is only the first chapter in a thrilling, ever- twisting exposé.

This year, we’re “proud” to display hundreds of signs featuring various words of “encouragement” hand-printed by two of the city’s most reluctant optimists—K. James Henderson & Dud Lawson of Depression Press Mfg. & Ink, Inc.

Join Kent (art) & Dud (copy) for an opening reception Friday, Oct. 11 from 6-10pm and come back the morning of Sunday, Oct.13 for booze, carbs, and a front-row view of the longest, most tedious sporting event in the Midwest.

Today UPS dropped of a box of new posters fresh from the printer. I’ve had the good fortune to work with a few small companies that are just starting out, and it’s been really refreshing to hear their enthusiasm and determination to do business in a way that’s well thought out and works for them. The idea of these cool new companies coming onto the scene and operating in innovative ways that contrast the large corporations who are now backpedaling as the paradigm shifts is pretty rad, and was the inspiration behind this poster.

After creating the Game of Thrones Poster series I decided to try a new approach to some poster designs.

This is a true minimalist approach where I have only taken two features from each of the animals represting the houses.

Although I would like to do more I dont think this will work for many houses.

Another Design Cuts tutorial! I've been given a lot of brushes to play with, along with the instruction to make a fake movie poster.

This is an early poster for the LNER as it was only formed in 1923. I really like the works of Frank Brangwyn - one of the most fascinating and prolific British artists of the early 20th century who did many works in engraving. This striking illustration of the Royal Border Bridge viaduct at Berwick upon Tweed, the scale dwarfing the men below and the train high above. The poster was one of a series of bridges by Brangwyn.

Did your client make a last-minute request for "mountains" on their poster? Sure dude, no problem.

I used Sparhawk, Altus, and Castor for my poster. These fonts come with sweet extras, alternate characters, and open type features. You should consider getting them.

Also, in the texturing part of the tutorial, I make use of some of my paper folds textures, and of my photocopy noise textures. I'm also using a grid from the Arsenal's US grid kit.
