Yep, I'm recruiting everyone I know to come work out at the Y. Get a free 7-day guest pass and come destroy yourself with us. So good working out with Lalah today. She got a taste of the squat thrusts, plank twists, and plyometric lunges that are the highlight of my Monday morning. She heard bits from Kanye, Lady Gaga, and Florence + the Machine. It was a good day.

 

At the end of our workout, my older brother walked in (he was taking the next class). Lalah + Tim + me in the same room = head explodes in joy.

 

Now I just need to work on getting my younger brother and his wife in the room with me and my older brother at the same time. That would be a day for the record books.

Hoe kom ik onder de 25 minuten?

5 kilometer aan 1 stuk hardlopen. Tot nu toe loop ik 5 km in een trainingsloop in een tempo van ongeveer 5.30 per km. Dan kom je uit op circa 27,5 minuut. Voor de pandemie liep ik de 5 km in een 5 km wedstrijd in een tijd van 27.05. Er moet dus nog wel wat gebeuren om sneller te lopen. Als ik me bedenk dat ik dan onder de 5 minuten per km zou moeten lopen vraag ik me af of dat haalbaar is. Toch is opgeven geen optie. Wat ik merk bij de 5 kilometer hardlopen is dat ik door de vele km die ik afgelegd heb met de trainingen een betere conditie krijg en steeds wat sneller wordt op langere afstanden. Hoe ga ik te werk? Hoe vaak moet ik hardlopen om te trainen? Ik heb me voorgenomen driemaal per week te trainen. Bij elke training kijk ik of ik één en later meerdere km in de buurt van die 5 minuten kan komen. In ieder geval sneller dan de 5.30 per minuut.
