This is all that's left of the house that once stood on this mountainside. I don't know what happened to the house, but considering where I was, it probably just fell off the edge.

 

This is a good half-mile UP the mountain from where we had to abandon our Jeep and walk the rest of the way.

Ancient alms box in the church of St Eadburgha, Broadway, Worcestershire by Paul A Moore

St. Eadburgha was the daughter of King Edward the Elder whose father was King Alfred the Great.

 

The church has been a place of worship since Saxon times. The story goes that as a child, Eadburgha was offered jewels or a Bible as a gift. She chose the latter (silly girl) and dedicated her life to the service of God.

 

The present cruciform church dates back to the 12th century and contains some fine medieval stonework and Jacobean woodwork.

heavy wind and rain cause the trees to catch the power pole and 2 others fell with it.we had no power from 11-05am Saturday morning till 9-30pm Saturday night ,then 2-30pm Sunday.we had thunder lighting all of Saturday.

Tiger & I met up with some church friends for a five mile walk in Derbyshire.. Not far from Owler Bar (where we stopped on way back for refreshments - hence the Tiger shot!).

 

Started at Shillito Woods (off A621) and followed path via Ramsey Reservoir across the road to Barbrook Reservoir (disused). Lunch break then back along other paths to the car park.

Nice little walk with friends..!

Some drizzle, light breeze, tiny bit of sunshine & plenty of mud!

Held from June 30 to July 11 2008 at IRRI, this training course provided participants with an understanding of the basics of rice production. The course included field visits to the main rice production regions in the Philippines. Training also included creating familiarity with the germplasm collection amd other science and rice farming resources at IRRI, an appreciation of the research to production model at IRRI and its developing partners, hands-on skills relating to all aspects of production and post-harvest, an understanding of international collaborations, and a plan and personal contacts for the participants to use on their return to their homes.

Most places do a pre-floatation, but Baroida does a post-pulping flotation.

 

After flotation, the tank will be drained of the water, and then the coffee will ferment for about 36 hours.

 

After fermentation, the coffee is washed.

 

(Right now, Nickel is building these super-interesting paddle washers that I believe have potential to improve quality – and really be super-rad.)
