The long standing debate - can the power of words and wisdom triumph over the power of force and aggression? Many would believe not, but consider the following....
Writers, thinkers and artists created the spirit of the modern world with the power of the pen. The French Revolution was founded on the back of the writings of Rousseau -
"Man is born free, and everywhere he is in chains. One man thinks himself the master of others, but remains more of a slave than they are."
Karl Marx's 'Communist Manifesto' was fundamental in creating modern day communism -
“Let the ruling classes tremble at a Communist revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. Working men of all countries, unite!” .
Even more recently and closer to home, consider how the peace process in Northern Ireland has succeeded where violence and bloodshed did not - in this case the power of the pen led a country to stability and peace!
Ideas are expressed through the power of the pen and the written word molds life according to the times. Violence can only suppress the beliefs of the people. The pen stands for positive and constructive efforts, while the sword signifies negative behavior and destruction. The sword can force people into submission, but cannot propagate an idea. The pen can solve many complex issues and inspire the masses to great things.
I am sure that not everyone will agree with these sentiments and there have been many occasions in history where the pen has been overpowered by the sword, if only temporarily. Fundamentally however, I think that there is strong foundation in this principle!

I had a job interview today! I feel like it went well, and the job is even cooler than I had dared imagine. FINGERS CROSSED, YOU GUYS!
Also, I will draw your attention to my rocking footwear. A fellow Raveler bought them, but they were too small for her. She INCREDIBLY GENEROUSLY sent them to me, plus some awesome candy and other fun stuff. I think they look especially swell with my interview suit.
omg, i love the internet so much.

Generosity is simply our giving without consideration of our circumstances...what it will cost us. It's so much easier to give from our abundance and leftovers (that which we will not miss) than it is to give of our last or best (that which we will certainly miss)
