Der Luftkur- und Wintersportort liegt etwa 14 km nordnordwestlich von Trient auf einer Höhe von 864 m s.l.m. östlich der Brenta-Gruppe am Ufer des Lago di Molveno und zu Füßen des östlich gelegenen Massivs der Paganella.
Der etwa 4 km langen Molvenossee, der bis zu 120 m tief ist, wird durch einen kleinen Bach und mehrere kleine Zuflüsse aus den Bergen gespeist.
Molveno is a comune (municipality) in Trentino in the northern Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northwest of Trento. It is famous for its positioning on Lake Molveno as a holiday destination, its nearby ski resorts (Andalo-Paganella and its connection to the National Park Adamello Brenta.
Molveno is located at the northern end of a 4-kilometre (2.5 mi) long lake (Lago di Molveno), at the foot of the Brenta Group and the Paganella mountain.
The Lake of Molveno, formed by a landslide about 4000 years ago, is the second largest in Trentino-Alto Adige, 3.3 square kilometres (1.3 sq mi). It has a maximum depth of 123 metres (404 ft). It's famous for its diverse fish species, including trout, arctic char and perch.

I may not have to venture far for colors in the near future... like to Lowes or Home Depot, hahaha..... as I'm starting to see signs of Spring in my own back yard. These are crocuses that have come up in my flowerbed. They're really yellow, but I had fun "tweaking" them and this was the final result. Hope you like it.

Sunrise, Vitaleta Chapel, San Quirico d'Orcia, Tuscany
I returned home from running my Tuscany workshop last night and it was a great week with some great folk. It was so good to be back in one of the most beautiful parts of Europe, let alone Italy.
So here's an image of one of my favourite locations, the stunning Vitaleta Chapel which is a short walk from the roadside parking. I told my clients to be ready to leave the hotel at 5.30am for the short drive to the chapel and we were on location by 6am, a whole hour before sunrise and while that might sound pretty early considering that it was still dark when we arrived, it turned out to be an inspired decision as we bagged the best spots before anyone turned up.
Knowing that the sun rises to left of the chapel, I positioned my camera to capture the sunburst as it rose behind one of the Cyprus trees. I ramped up the aperture to f/16 to have the sunburst look more prominent.

I was positioned out in the middle of the wetlands to catch the moon as it rose right along the edge of the old WWII artillery triangulation tower. At first, the clouds obscured the moon and disappointment was about to set in, when suddenly the clouds opened up for about two minutes. What was a great moment was made even better as three geese came in to land right out of the rising moon, adding a little something extra to the moment.

Happy Caturday~ Looking on the Bright Side
When a cat is playing or frightened, they try to make themself look as big as possible. A stiff-legged hopping gait often accompanies this puffing out of their fur.
Jerri often assumes this pose when playing with Oscar, much to our amusement and delight!
I positioned this bright white Clematis to cheer up a dark corner in the garden. It has turned out to be quite stunning !
Unfortunately, I was not able to see this guy pupate. It happened in the wee hours of the morning when I was still snug in my bed. However, there is a beautiful Chrysalis hanging from this leaf now. I’ll post that picture tomorrow. Good luck on your transformation Monarch!

RKO_3082-2. A nice wildebeest at the water meadows in Amboseli National park, Kenya. Despite the water at the meadows, many wildebeest and zebra died as the grasses they eat didn't grow due the lack of rain.

The Castle of Levizzano is located in a dominant position on the wonderful hills of the homonymous village in the municipality of Castelvetro. Its structure consists of a city wall in the centre of which there is the so-called Torre Matildica - Matildic Tower.
Starting from the 12th century, the fortified complex was restored and enlarged. In particular, next to the tower that was placed to protect the entrance to the Castle, a part of the feudal palace was erected and an underground tunnel was built, which still joins the Palace to the Tower.
Around the 16th century the buildings underwent important transformations: dating back to this period is the so-called "Stanza dei Vescovi" or Bishops’ Room, which has a ceiling with ancient wooden structures and a cycle of Renaissance frescoes. On the main floor, you can enter the charming loggia overlooking the hills dotted with vineyards from the main hall. Campo San Rocco and the ancient former Napoleonic cemetery stand in the immediate vicinity of the Castle.

During my trip to India I got chance to visit few places for birding. With my friend Anupam Dash I visited Bhitarkanika (Only place in India where you can find all seven species of kingfishers) Mangroves for kingfishers and Manglajodi wetland for mostly waders and waterfowls. Both these locations are vast and home ground for Anupam. He has been working at thease both locations from decades. He has trained his team member as boat operators and they work with him seamlessly to put the boat at right place and angle to get perfect position for shot as he directs. He is amazing to know the active spots in that vast area at particular time and season. His team takes very little time to reach to place where action is going on considering huge area to cover. Although I was little late in season, he was able to find good number of species for me. If you are visiting any place in India or those places for bird photography, I highly recommend joining Anupam. A big thanks my friend. Here is Bluethroat we photographed at Manglajodi.

As I was observing this Eurasian Hummingbird Hawkmoth, it occurred to me that it could be a female, overpositing onto the Valerians. Still awaiting confirmation from iNaturalist.
