Dramatic portrait of modern cowboy. Strobist info: SB-800 in umbrella camera left triggered with an SU-800. I used black seamless paper for the back drop but it didn't really matter as the light fall off would have made the background go dark anyway.
I played with it in PS CS2 afterwards with the Dragonizer action.
The item in his mouth is a tooth pick. I should probably just clone it out as most people can't figure out what it is.
Bringing up again this photo since it's now the main piece I am using for the new exhibition VeroSimile on display today ℅ Caffetteria La Loggia in Firenze (Italy).
VeroSmile is an exhibition of painterly iPhoneographs edited to look like real paintings and framed with top-class handcrafted frames.

I can't have too many portraits of this treasured soul I call my husband.
Andy's work clothes are usually his USPS uniform, but yesterday he worked for the Letter Carrier's union as an arbitrator. His sharp mind and articulate voice works hard to save jobs in the post office across Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa.
I'm feeling very grateful to have Andy in my life. We make an loving and harmonious team and I would not be living my dream if it weren't for him. Thank you, my love.
I picked this up in Hebron Illinois. I am thinking this is late 1940’s or early 1950’s. The patch on the gents uniform is for the Army 7th Armor Division - Tank Destroyers. Studio was Medlar of Woodstock Illinois.
Portrait with wind. Model: Alla. Studio shooting. Nikon D60 + Pentax Super Takumar 50mm f1.4 (old, thorium glass) + large softcube with Norman 2400 strobe + two Norman ML400 strobes with umbrellas + light disk in front. WSP studio.
Just some more contemporary portraits of Ciska from her business portrait session. We also did some more classic business portraits but she liked these the most.

This is Cristina! She is a fabulous violinist who I have met through orchestra at my university.
All the photos of her are from a shoot we did with her senior recital posters in mind. Being me, I took quite a few that couldn't be turned into posters (due to the frame being to close in on her face). But some of those photos are my personal favourites.
This was my first portrait photo-shoot ever! And I can't tell you have nerve-racking/exciting/great it was to be able to do it!
My watermark is much simpler on these solely because they are portraits and I wanted her to be able to use them without an obnoxious watermark on them.
Any comments you leave (as always) are loved and adored. You guys help me learn so much about photography - so every little thing matters. Thank you!
