Christmas gift for my wife

The very brand spanking new mix of Jada Pink Slips appeared whilst I was out in Hong Kong though the only retailer I saw them in was Kanto Hobby. Unfortunately they are experts in knowing what will get collectors excited and thus charged over the odds for them and so I just picked up this one. Annoyingly they do drop their prices once initial hype has subsided!

I deemed the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S as being the most appealing out of the new assortment as it obviously shares that substantial bulk of the Majorette original.

Being a Pink Slip ensures its no shrinking violet with pink accents in body stripes and wheel rims as well as bright white wheels contrasting with its strangely sober looking dark metallic silver.

Last years Case G recolour of the Matchbox Porsche Cayenne Turbo can still be found in abundance in UK B&M Bargains stores as thats the only assortment they've sold since LAST JULY! Whether we actually get this brand new one is anyones guess as most retailers here are still so far behind!

This brand new Case E release goes for the more clean and cool look thanks to a shimmering all white metallic finish which contrasts well with the blacked out wheels it rides on. One of few toy makers who have bothered to model this new generation Cayenne in this scale and low price point and thankfully they've done a great job.

Despite both ASDA and Sainsbury's both continuing to dabble in stocking Majorette neither have had the foresight and imagination in getting in the latest Porsche themed singles or sets. Both extremely appealing and would no doubt sell very well but as per the usual valuable shelf and peg space are devoted to basic Hot Wheels and HTI generics!

The small Toytown chain have corrected this injustice by getting in the full range of Porsche singles and sets and not too badly priced either. The new generation Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid looks good if somewhat swamped by the size of its accompanying trailer, itself feeling substantial thanks to its baseplate being made of metal.

2023 Case G recolour of the Matchbox Porsche Cayenne Turbo though in actual fact its the first release to be launched in the basic mainline, its first black one debuted in the Best Of Germany series. I bought rather too many of them whilst in France over the Summer but also face the same prospect thanks to both B&M Bargains and Poundland stocking this assortment.

The sound of this car is extreme.

I'm not sure if I like it though,

nevertheless, if someone asked me if I wanted the car I'll gladly accept.

Unusually for Welly they offer their new Porsche Cayenne Turbo casting in two colours simultaneously rather than just let one run in the same one for years on end! Neither are particularly exciting hues but both are very sensibly stock and clearly highlight why Welly are still masters of the budget licensed 1/64 world.

Found in an E.leclerc hypermarket which had an assortment of 1/64 brands which would put EVERY UK retailer to shame!

Latest 2023 Case G recolour of the Matchbox Porsche Cayenne Turbo and one who's numbers have swelled in my collection thanks to Action in France and latterly B&M Bargains which is where this example came from. Still too appealing to leave behind though I suspect at some point soon i'm going to have to, finite storage space! :-0

Less Hot Wheels hunting means more time and money to devote to my strange love of cheapo "offbrand" Chinese diecasts even if that usually means sourcing them directly from the likes of AliExpress. I've just taken delivery of a rather neat four vehicle set containing four realistic but unlicensed SUV's including this rather well appointed Porsche Cayenne.

In the strange World of cheapo diecasts identification can be somewhat problematic with brand names which don't necessarily correlate to the actual manufacturer. The packaging proudly displays the Wanshike name, it even has a fancy holographic sticker displaying it too. It also lists on the back of the packaging the manufacturer as being the Hong Kong Shuangcheng Science & Education Co. LTD so problem solved you would have thought. Well the brand name Wanshike almost certainly belongs to them but they aren't the manufacturer. No problem, underneath that it also mentions another manufacturer, this time Yiyuan Craft Toy Factory. They too aren't the manufacturer either, merely a sales and distribution company.

Luckily for me I already have this casting sold under the Pengying name and a quick Google reveals they ARE the actual manufacturer so problem solved but does highlight the fact a lot of these toy factories don't particularly ever want to be revealed!

The model itself is very impressive for its price, its approximately Siku sized so a little bigger than your average Matchbox and with no license fees to worry about it possesses neat features such as opening front doors, premium looking paint colours and seriously nice alloy effect wheels.
