Matzwart.
Krakau, Polen
Romanian angry looking Cayenne Turbo with a big mouth, parked in the dirty drap that two days earlier was still fresh snow. Combo with his other big brother, the Panamera. With this thing you push old Lada's off the road in the Eastern bloc countries, which he had to cross to get to Kraków.

Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, has extended its third model line by the addition of the top of the range Cayenne Turbo S. The Turbo S, the most powerful Cayenne of them all, is driven by a 4.8 liter V8 engine with twin turbo forced induction, delivering 550 hp (404 kW).
The Turbo S’s enhanced performance relative to that of the regular Turbo model is due to its modified exhaust system and improvements in engine control. In addition to the performance improvements, there has also been an increase in maximum torque by 50 Nm to 750 Nm within an engine speed range of 2,250 rpm to 4,500 rpm.
The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and its top speed is 280 km/h.
I can clearly remember when this 2013 recolour of the Matchbox Porsche Cayenne came out. It was right in the middle of one of their worst ever periods for generics and horrendous colour schemes and liveries for what scant licensed stuff they were putting out. Such a realistic and stock looking machine shone out on the pegs like a sore thumb and reminded despondent collectors that there was still a bit of talent left at Matchbox. At one time these filled the pegs of Poundland where I was able to grab several and then completely disappeared!
Thanks to Mikaela for reminding me of what a great little casting this Porsche Cayenne Turbo is by sending me a recent charity shop rescue. In loose and preloved condition.
Another new Matchbox release I seemingly can't say no to! This is its second version though the first time its actually been seen in the basic mainline, the first being exclusive to the Best Of Germany set.
Despite finding several in France I have also managed to pick up a few at B&M Bargains as they are now happily getting in Case G.

The European life can be very attractive. House Design by A.H. Smink architecten, Netherlands. An appropriate collection of sports cars - Porsche Speedster, Porsche Turbo S, Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, Porsche Panamera Turbo S, Aston Martin DBS... and still waiting for a Porsche 918 Spyder (plug-in hybrid supercar ordered March 2011 at a price of € 645,000 ex taxes) - makes it even more attractive.
“And we’ve all chose to do this with our lives. So it better be damn good. It better be worth it.”

Brand new 2023 Case G recolour of the Matchbox Porsche Cayenne Turbo which as you can see by the number of posts in recent weeks I bought quite a lot of from France and now here in the UK.
Its not even the best 1/64 new generation Cayenne out there but its probably one of the best detailed and certainly one of the best finished for its low price point.

This years Matchbox Case H is more about recolours of existing castings rather than showcasing many genuinely new releases, not the most exciting assortment though always happy to see new colours given to their Porsche Cayenne Turbo.
Bringing the Cayenne concept up to date modelling the third generation and being Matchbox in a totally factory stock appearance. This brand new recolour has a really dark but super glossy metallic purple finish applied in a flawless fashion; detailing to front and rear is expected and delivered.

I couldn't resist getting another one of these bold looking Porsche Cayenne Turbo models by Matchbox. This batch of Matchbox cars can still be bought in abundance in a lot of UK discount stores as they get their stock very cheaply from the U.S. Unfortunately a lot of it is plastic tat but there are obviously some gems like this. Just how Matchbox should always be, we cast, well detailed, available and licensed! Mint and boxed.
Awesome Porsche Cayenne TechArt MAGNUM 2007. 620cv, top speed 292km/h, 0-100km/h in 4.5s. More pics here bit.ly/17SnOru
Matt White is a stunning color for this Panamera Turbo. Aspecially the carbon details like the door handles are awesome.

With no sight of anything new Matchbox wise in the UK despite the number of new official stockists I took full advantage of being in France to get my Matchbox fix! Various retailers stocked everything from normal basic mainlines to Moving Parts and Collectors though only one stocks totally up to date batches and in Power Grabs boxes and thats Action.
Just 1.29 Euros which is equivalent to just 1.00 Pounds gets you this fully licensed Porsche Cayenne Turbo detailed to high standards front and rear plus a classy metallic blue paint finish.
One of several found at this retailer.

With the ever increasing dominance of Mattel and our own HTI in supplying our big chain retailers with 1/64 diecasts its not always easy to find products from other smaller toy makers. Since September 2016 and for reasons unknown to me Wilkinsons have virtually replaced HTI as their previous source of budget in house branded models with the products of Suntoys. The majority are either larger scale stuff or cheapo low end 1/64 models in the same vein as Summer but thankfully they also sell as singles a small range of licensed castings which they have been making for the past five years or so. Pretty much all of them apart from the Citroen C4 can be found in Wilkinsons and for the sub Mattel price make a nice alternative from the usual big boys. I managed to grab a few of these little Porsche Cayenne models and although I don't think they will make Majorette or Welly lose sleep they are definitely good enough to be official Porsche products. The body is nicely accurate and well cast plus you get a full array of painted detailing to lights and badges plus a realistic interior and a well applied metallic grey finish. The only downside of course is that for the duration of this range being available in Wilkinsons which could be for the next few years I don't expect to see any new castings or recolours! An old photo I edited of room 1 one Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and I'm really impressed with it. What do you think? if you favourite this, please comment as well. Thank you.
Siku still carry on making heavyweight diecast models which feel twice as well made as the competition. Most have opening features such as this Porsche Cayenne Turbo with nice detailing too. They arn't as readily available as when I was younger but thankfully my local Toyland store has a good selection though somewhat overpriced. Mint and boxed.
The last time I saw Joy City diecasts in a shop was back in the mid 2000's when they briefly appeared at Poundland and in a souvenir shop in Tenerife! I was pleasantly surprised to find some during the Easter weekend at Jobs Toys in Fleetwood near Blackpool.
Another manufacturer who took advantage of the 2000's craze for low cost but highly detailed 1/72 scale diecasts though I believe Joy City do still exist branching out into larger scales along the way. Superb levels of accuracy and detailing to both Porsche and boat and a bargain at just 2.00! Mint and boxed.
