Inside of the former Fleishhacker Pool house located along the Great Highway in San Francisco. It was the world's largest swimming pool when it opened in 1925 and contained six million gallons of sea water. It closed in 1971 and the SF Zoo bought it with plans to convert it into a parking lot. The abandoned pool house still stands today. In 2007 my friend and I were into urban exploring and found our way in. It was obvious homeless people lived there and when we started to hear people moving around in another part of the building we got out fast.
The edges and starting blocks of the swimming pool are made of plastic blocks floating on the water in the harbour on the southern shore of Male.
Every peoples have a dream for having a private pools in their house. Private pools can be as a sign of social level in certain peoples. We can make our beloved house more beautiful with gardens or private pools. Having private pools is very effective to spend the quality time with family....

Els had been poorly a few weeks ago but seems to be feeling a lot better now. It's good to see her 'hanging' by the pool again today......

Construction for the Neptune Pool spanned 1924-1936. Three swimming pools were built on this site, each successively larger. Initial plans for the site called for a "Temple Garden" with an ornamental pool and temple structure. On March 31, 1924, W.R. Hearst wrote in a letter to Julia Morgan, "I am sending back the plan of the temple garden with the suggestion that we make the pool longer than it is, as long as a swimming pool. Mrs. Hearst and the children are extremely anxious to have a swimming pool!" On June 17, 1924, Morgan wrote that the first swimming pool was nearing completion: "Mr. Neptune and the two ladies can be placed but the finished basins will take some time yet."
The second version of the pool, a substantial enlargement, was created in 1926-1927. This version had a series of concrete steps at the southern side called the Cascade, down which water flowed. The Neptune and Nereid statues, presently in the temple pediment, then stood at the top of the Cascade. The dressing rooms were begun in 1928 and furnished according to Hearst's instruction.
splendid! wonderful temperature, great space. the opening hours are a bit unclear. one person there at 5.40 am, five or 6 by 6.30, and the documentation says it opens at 7 am.
By this picture you can see how clean it looks like... It is in maintenace. After seeing it this way, guess I won't go swimmin for a good while HAHAHAHHAHA
