Banastarim is situated at about 16 kms from Panjim and 12 kms from Ponda in Goa. It has a government school and a sports club. There are three temples in the area as the Village shares a large hindu population. However the village is mainly known for its market which starts filling from Thursday evening and get full by Friday morning every week.

Banastarim is also known for the Meta Bridge. The bridge in Banastarim sometimes called the Banastarim Bridge is an important link to the Tiswadi and Ponda taluka as well as to the Mandovi River. Major of the West Side of Banastarim is surrounded by the river. Source : www.goaholidayhomes.com/information/banastari-bridge.html

―Ponda Baba

Ponda Baba, poor sod. He picked one too many fights with the wrong guys.

This build started with me trying to build eyes with mudguards. The shape of the eyes made me think of Ponda Baba. And so, the rest of the build formed around it. I'm pleased with how sad he looks. Maybe he is mourning his lost arm and friend?

"I'm sorry."

"I don't like you either! You just watch yourself! We're wanted men! I have the death sentence on twelve systems!"

"I'll be careful then."

"YOU'LL BE DEAD."

Man I love these two assholes.

Getting my PC back tomorrow, until then, here's an experiment I threw together. I think it worked out pretty okay.

Ponda Baba: CMF Grey alien head, painted, with painted lever base glued on. Not 100% accurate, but I think it looks okay. Captain Panaka torso, CMF Sheriff legs.

Doctor Evazan: PoP head with painted eye and scars, Lone Ranger torso, Alien Conquest belt.

Also featuring Greedo, cause I love this fig, and old school Ben and Luke, cause they're relevant. They aren't fleshy cause I didn't wanna track down the appropriate parts.

Let me know what you think, and just watch yourself.

ALSO my Jabba's sail barge pic reached 60 faves so I'll be posting my combined Jabba sets/minifigs soon. Stay tuned for that.

Shri Mangeshi temple is located at Mangeshi Village in Priol, Ponda taluk, Goa. It is at a distance of 22 km from Panaji the capital of Goa and 26 km from Margao.

This temple is one of the largest and most frequently visited temples in Goa. The temple has recently banned entry to foreign nationals citing objectionable dressing and conduct as the reason.

The 400-year-old Shri Mangesh temple dedicated to Shiva stands out with its simple and yet exquisitely elegant structure. The temple is noted for the pillars which are considered to be the most beautiful among the temples in Goa. There is a prominent Nandi Bull which is considered to be the Vahana (Vehicle) of Shiva. A beautiful seven-storeyed deepstambha (lamp tower), stands at the gates in the temple complex. The temple also has a magnificent water tank, which is believed to be the oldest part of the temple.

The Zuari River (Konkani: जुवारी Zuvari, pronounced [zuwəːriː]) is the largest river in the state of Goa, India. It is a tidal river with a total length of 34 kilometres. The Zuari originates at Hemad-Barshem in the Western Ghats. The Zuari is also referred to as the Aghanashani in the interior regions. It flows in the southern-western direction through the talukas of Tiswadi, Ponda, Mormugao, Salcete, Sanguem and Quepem.

The Zuari and Mandovi Rivers form the backbone of Goa's agricultural industry. The Cumbarjuem Canal linking the two rivers has enabled ships navigate to the interior regions to the iron ore mines. The waters of the Mandovi and Zuari both flush out into the Arabian Sea at Cabo Aguada, a common point forming the Mormugao harbour. The port city of Vasco da Gama lies on the mouth of the Zuari River.

I was reminded to post this after I saw a bunch of others doing it yesterday, so here's all the stuff I got at BFVA this year.

Don't want to get into too much detail, but I got a bunch of CAC and BrickArms, some parts for figs, JerdFigs' Ponda Baba and Dr. Evazan as well as a collab Yoda, MooseMan's Starscream, a new sigfig head by God himself Billy, a new Groot head painted by once again me, Dylan, Ross, and Andy, a SWCO pin from Tim, the Vader set, a personalized card from ya boi ReconBrix, and the other usual BFVA stuff like badge bricks, pins, bingo parts, and the printed tiles (this year I got ELO and G1 Starscream).

I also got a Revenge of the Fallen Sideswipe fig from Shane the day before the con, but I forgot to put that in the photo.

BFVA seemed less energetic this year for some reason, but I feel like I made the best of it and it was great to see everyone once again!
