Photographed July 2023 / Canon CANONFLEX RM 35mm SLR Film Camera with Canon Lens Mount Convertor P and KMZ INDUSTAR 50-2 50mm/3.5 lens. The film was KENTMERE 400 metered ASA 320 and developed in KTF-QP (a hydroquinone+phenidone formula which uses triethanolamine as alkali). The negative was scanned via a Pentax K3 DSLR and the image was edited on an iPad mini using the Snap Seed application: full frame scan of entire negative area without trimming.
Poly is a young sea turtle, that likes to expose to the sun on the small islands.
I'm really surprised at how this one ended. It's really strong as I used brand new parts with lots of clutch power, it is posable, and it is so cute :)

In the running for most impractical game board pieces, I've made a Naughts and Crosses (aka Tic-Tac-Toe) game out of Polyphemus and Luna moth caterpillar faces. They are small (4-5mm wide) and light enough to occasionally randomly bounce around due to static electricity.
The wee paint brush is for moving your pieces around. It's either deeply relaxing or supremely aggravating, I haven't decided yet.
On the plus, if you've lost ten games in a row and are on your way to losing the eleventh, a light sneeze will send all the pieces scattering to the wind, ending the game in a technical draw.
Technical Info:
-A bare SB80dx camera left and up, another one camera right and below for some backlighting.
-Triggered with rf602s.
-The Poly's are brown, Lunas greenish yellow, all 4th instar for those keeping track.
-The caterpillars were done with their faces, they drop them as the shed to continue growing.
-It's very blizzardy out, and a hobby is vital to stave off the shack whackies.
A quick shot of the waterfall inside the lobby at the polynesian. This is definitely one of those favorite spots of mine at my favorite resort. The early morning sun coming in through the sky lights was a bit uneven so processing was rough. Let me know what you think and as always, Enjoy!
The star of the African daisy beds at Cal Poly's Leaning Pine arboretum in SLO y'day. Truly knockout color, and a perfect cloudy-bright afternoon -- though our visit was cut short by a rain shower. It's finals week, so parking was easy and the garden almost deserted. We should go more often.
A drawback here is the shortage of labels on plants. I don't even know the genus. Perennials, I think. Help? An Osteospermum horticultural hybrid??
In the morning of Wednesday 5 July 2023 a violent summer storm named Poly caused a lot of damage in the Netherlands. Especially in Haarlem, where a woman died when a tree fell on her car.
This storm was the most powerful summer storm ever recorded in the Netherlands, with wind gusts of 146 km/h.
