dew drops on some ornamental cabbage leaves... :)

The foreground and background have something in common.

Can you guess what it is?

CSX Y32210 leaves the run around track by NW 12th Ave bound back to Hialeah Yard on the Downtown Spur. Formerly a two track mainline with dozens of industrial switches, all that's left is the single track stem to the run around since Y322 still works trailing points on both directions. The ex Seaboard Miami Station would have stood in the background had it not been demolished.

These are the two highest points of elevation in the Rocky Mountain Range of North America. Mt Elbert (left) at 14,440" and Mt Massive (right) at 14,433'.

These two mountains are not the tallest from their base, not even close. Many people do not realize how high in elevation Colorado is in general. The lowest point in the state is still 3315' above sea level located east along the Colorado-Kansas State line.

The mountain ranges of Colorado all rise from a high elevation base.

Both are single exposures. My simplified star trails technique is explained on page 62 of my eBook. No need to stack hundreds of exposures, like other complicated star trail methods. All processing is done in-camera, using the LENR mode (Long Exposure Noise Reduction), rather than having to do post processing stacking afterwards on your computer — joining together hundreds of single exposures into circling trails!

TECHNIQUE & EXIF: Canon 6D (H-alpha modified) + Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 @ 15mm • LEFT: Single exposure, 15 sec, f/2.8, ISO 8000 • RIGHT: Star Trails. one exposure @ 2520 seconds (42 minutes), f/5.0, ISO 160, using LENR mode.

My eBook, Milky Way NightScapes, gives extensive details on my style of starry night landscape photography. Four chapters cover planning, scouting, forecasting star/landscape alignment, light painting, shooting techniques and post processing. Yup all ten of the charging points are vacant yet again - the cars you see are in private reserved bays . In the car park there were many empty spaces including the 30 minute free bays - this is peculiar though as it is a Saturday morning and the village main car park is totally closed for maintenance , although I stuck my head into the dry cleaners that I used to manage and the chap there now said it was quite a busy day - go figure . ( I have to add that the industry has changed a lot and busy now is not busy as I remembered it back in the day ) .

Early morning light touched the tops of snow-laden trees on a 5F day in January. A strong chinook wind brought higher tempertures later in the afternoon raising the temps about 35 F. Boulder, Colorado

My sister gave me this trivet. I really love the Canadian maple on it.

In black. Some local NS/IHB control points have been getting the Penn Central treatment. Signage with white slanted letters on a black background. PC was a railroad of my yout, and this is how I remember it, minus all the weeds and bad track. Whatever, I think it's a fine tribute.
