Lonely Wolf Seeks Adventurous Red Riding Hood
Tired of prowling through the woods alone. Seeking one daring, cloak-wearing risk-taker who doesn’t mind a little fur and fangs.
About me:
- Strong, independent, and howls at the moon for fun.
Excellent sense of direction (unless there’s a woodcutter involved).
- Has all my own teeth
- Enjoys long walks through the forest, sneaking into grandmas’ houses, and howling meaningful ballads about life’s mysteries (and maybe an occasional hunger pang).
About you:
- Loves the color red, because I can’t resist a bold fashion statement.
- Enjoys surprise visits to Granny's house—bonus points if you can bake.
- Must appreciate a wolf with layers: I’ve got a wild side but also a soft side (especially around cuddly grandmas).
Let's skip the huffing and puffing, and build something real.
You bring the basket, I’ll bring the charm.
Swipe right on this Big Bad Wolf—promise I’m mostly harmless. ;)
San Francisco, CA

I didn't use the drone in San Francisco. Upon coming into town, there were signs posted not to fly drones anywhere around the Golden Gate Bridge, and I'd been disappointed that I was forbidden to use my drone all along the coast, at State Parks, or on the beaches in Humboldt County.
One thing I did do I haven't done since 1975 or so was to ride up the elevator to the top of Coit Tower, on Telegraph Hill, in northeastern San Francisco.
The windows up there were clear and clean, and this photo was taken on a nice afternoon looking east toward Russian Hill from the observation deck of Coit Tower. You can see a bit of the Golden Gate Bridge and the twisty part of Lombard Street on the upper right. The street running through the center of the photo is Filbert Street, with Washington Square Park on the left and Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral on the right.
The tall buildings on the left are the Cloister Apartments and the Royal Towers.

My resistance is extremely low... when there is such colour around, it brings out my creativity!

Big Sur, California
A series of three rocky points along the Big Sur coast just after sunset. The one actually called Rocky Point is in the distance. The rocks themselves are granodiorite that was created long ago somewhere far south of here and which has since slid north on the Pacific Plate.
THREE lessons to be learned from a pencil:
1. everything you do leaves a mark
2. pain always sharpens you
3. it's what's inside that counts

one domino is one and three-quarters of an inch wide.
Something I picked up on a junk stall in Morges; they come in a beautiful polished wooden box with etched inlays in an oriental design, made of the same material as the top of each piece -
it looks like ivory but on closer inspection I think it's more likely to be bakelite ;-)
I'm out at work at the moment so can't look up the term for an 18 point stag.
Photographed at Studley Royal two days ago. I cant help thinking that in this mornings snow these Red Deer would have made for a very different photo.
Low, late near-Spring light bathes the points and frogs at Metra's A2 Tower as distant bilevels at Union Pacific's California Avenue Coach Yard glow.

A couple more photos from the railway line at Bristol Harbourside. This one, a low down composition of the tracks and points covered in frost.
