Lake Point Tower located by the Lake Michigan lakefront in downtown Chicago. Took this picture while on a boat ride there.
Friday's walk, the Point Lonsdale beach experienced waves that easily covered the pedestrian walkway and these two swimmers - braving our 2nd month of winter - decided to make use of a seat to gain higher ground.
The entertainment factor was enough for both to stay put and enjoy viewing the powerful tumbling surf.
It's school holidays.
A little late for a cliff walk but the sky tonight over Stepper Point in North Cornwall was really dramatic and I thought might yield a thunderstorm. Alas it didn't but a nice evening anyway.
Fish! A long range shot, they didn't come any closer.
Many thanks to all who comment, fave or just enjoy looking, it really is very much appreciated!
Sitting alone in a lonely place waiting for something is not much of a great idea. But, I did wait for this lighthouse to glow. I tried to sell the idea to few late visitors to stay back to see the lit lighthouse, but they wished me luck and left. I was accompanied by the distant sea lion calls though ... so cold windy even my tripod shivered. Next time I will take some company so that I can wait there for longer :)

The lighthouse at Point Arena stands tall and proud on the Mendocino Coast in Northern California.
I used a KITE to fly the camera.
There are two or three runoff points for water from the Eucalyptus forested area which adjoin the rock shelf at Coal Point, Bruny Island. They make for extra colour where the lichens grow, and where the fallen strips of Eucalypt bark and leaves gather, complimenting the golden light on the neighbouring rocks. Grassy Point is in the background.
I was not familiar with this Bay area Icon until recently. While on a trip up to McClure's beach at Point Reyes National Seashore with Jean and Matt we spotted it and stopped to take some shots. We sky was heavily overcast and the light was pretty poor. I post-processed about 10 variations and had a very tough time settling on anything I really liked. I ended up with this single shot tone mapped image.
One of my favourite spots to photograph birds. They are acclimated to humans and I can get quite close. A regular.

A view from the station of the stabling point with 47 066 and an 08 visible. The class 28 (D5705) is just visible in the background (just to the left of the 08 on the right).
Grandview Point (looking east away from the falls) provides a distant view of the 308-foot Lower Falls. This place provides one of the most colorful views of the Canyon.
2am at the Southernmost Point....and there are still people here! I went here at this time hoping to find it empty. But no such luck!
