Since there is no electricity at the shack, the plug and wall switch seem to be from another era

We are going to grow some mushrooms! ... eventually. Today we cut down the branches, and drilled holes, and inserted the dowels inoculated with spores, and capped them with wax to protect them from other non-delicious spores.

Here is the log with the plugs inserted.

Here's the end of my bedroom windowsill with the wooden plug installed. I was planning to glue and pin it into place but in the end it was wedged quite tightly so I just used pins.

I put a little bit of decorator's caulk (my new favourite DIY material) in to smooth over the crack between the bits of wood. Hopefully once it's all painted up it should give a nice tidy finish.
