This is the "plug" or "bloom" from Blast Furness No1. It is formed from solidified molten iron.

The central building windows looked like electrical plugs.

Originally shot for a contest on the theme of "electric". I didn't think it would do very well, but lots of people liked the minimalistic look. What do you think?!

Stainless, 3/4" bolt with the head ground down so it won't catch a rock and tear the bottom of the boat out. It took alot of grinding. About 1/4" is left. Enough to grab a wrench.

Three rubber washers from the hardware store, the middle one cut down to fit inside the 1 1/8" hole in the hull.

Used JB Weld to seal the washer and threads/nut of the bolt. Tried to keep it off the aluminum hull.

Crank it down tight.

Why someone doesn't make a more refined production version out of bronze I don't know.

The oil port was plugged during the last paint job. The plug seemed to fall out after priming the frame.

Got any plans tonight????
