I saw this guy a few times in the railway passage: I don't know the name of his instrument (plugged into a socket in the wall) or of the kind of music he plays, but he is certainly good at it. I just sneaked a photo in a hurry with the zoom as I was late for my train. I'd like to try again with more light on his face, but he seems to have moved on.
The treatment is a sepia version on top of a black and white version and slightly desaturated.
Update: now I know. He is called Joël (le pygmée bleu/blue pygmy), he is from Cameroun, the instrument is an m'vet (or harp-cithare); he made it himself and is available for parties, concerts etc. I have his phone no. and e-mail if anyone is interested (Lausanne area). I also have a CD, and if I can figure out how to put a few minutes of it on here I will do ;-) And I got another photo in a much better light (though I missed my train because of it). Such a nice man.
my new plugs. now, almost 10mm !! hehehehehe!
i love it... no matter how painful HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
(i didin't cut my hair!!)
I recently moved my studio (what's left of it) and was surprised at the vast amount of plug sockets required. This photo was enough to make me rethink the whole way I have things arranged and now I have reduced my socket usage by a third. Wow, how incredibly dull of me to tell you that.
One end of a coaxial cable, as part of an experiment with my new camera's "super macro." I didn't have a tripod on me, so between the slightly waving cable and my own unsteady hands, the photo wasn't quite as sharp as I would have liked.
