Playing with lights

Playing again with long exposure and painting light. Light blue is the moon!

I like the stars in the outback.

Slow shutter speed.

my joe and I had a great time today, playing with those amazing natural ice sculptures!

I used 3 different cameras (Nikon d5000, Canon A470 (supermacro) and Panasonic FZ5)

little bit of love.

No editing, just a beautfiul rose.

Diversity, just like with people. (All shapes, sizes, colors and compositions.)

My first go at painting with light. This was done by covering a LED torch with a cone of white card and just waving it around to create the shape of a child over a long exposure, in hindsight I would have found a way to mask the backdrop

Best friends and wine and twinkle lights, oh my!

I took these shots this weekend at the Seattle Photography Associates (SPA) Meetup up in Mukilteo (sponsored by the South Sound Photography Meetup group). It was a fabulous opportunity to learn about and practice with real studio lights (Alien Bees).

This is the lovely Sheri who was my "partner in crime," as she put it, for practicing with different light modifiers. She was so fun! She wrapped the rope around herself for this creepy blue gel shot!

In short: practicing with over-under lighting, or so-called "beauty" lighting.
