In the background is the Station building which is currently not owned by the Nene Valley Railway. They are asking for donations to raise £160,000 to buy the building from the present owner to ultimately use as a new base for operations.
Palace platforms and Stone Walls with Room Interior, Temple Pyramids on the Main Plaza. Late Classical Maya site of Xcambo (850AD - 1000 AD). The site was a major location for saltmaking in the neighboring Laguna Rosada during the Maya period and contains numerous well-preserved house platforms with round cisterns either for storing fresh water or for saltmaking. Unlike the standard chultun, they are above ground--probably because of the very high salt-water table. More than most Maya sites it feels like a working, lived-in city rather than a ceremonial center. Xcambo, Yucatan, Mexico.
