Tartan Alpha Platform in the Central North Sea. Beautiful weather for January when the picture was taken.

The unusual sight of a Merseyrail unit on platform 7a (they use 7b) at Chester, in fact the front of the rear unit 507012 was actually just beyond the limit of the 3rd rail.

This is the Branch Line Society's "The Whitechapel Wayfarer" railtour, which comprised of units 508123 and 507012.

The tour started at Hooton and visited, Chester, Hooton, Ellesmere Port, the stock interchange line between the Northern and Wirral lines, Southport, Ormskirk, Kirkdale Depot, Bidston, Birkenhead North Depot and New Brighton, with lots of crossovers, rare curves and loops thrown in.

Was kind of bored at the station having missed my train so messed around with instagram for a bit. The camera was from a Ipod touch 4G so the quality is pretty poor:P

At Toddington platform 2 is being rebuilt from the ground upwards. The building here is still in poor condition, with spalled bricks and a modesty screen by the gents without any woodwork.

This looks like a platform that I could easily jump across in any video game. I probably wouldn't risk it in real life.

The Chicago-Louisville Thoroughbred was lst Monon passenger train to stop at this platform in Bedford, Ind. In the late 1970s Amtrak's Floridian passed by here but never stopped to pick up or drop off passengers. Today the station is a recycling center and the tracks have been removed from Bedford north to Bloomington. The tracks are still in south of Bedford, but are out of service. CSX officially ceased serving Bedford in 2009. The view is looking southward toward downtown Bedford. The far northern edge of the tracks can be seen beyond the depot.

Elizabeth Grajales began her artistic career studying drawing and painting at Arizona State University. Most of her artistic inspirations came from Superstition Mountain, closely located to Arizona State. Her art has evolved from paintings to custom fabrications of ceramic tiles, however her focus still remains on landscapes, animals, and birds.

We just gave the SeaDek Super Air Nautique 230 a facelift in preparation for putting her on the market. This is a great example of the kind of change that can be achieved with SeaDek. Looks like an entirely different boat when compare to the blue over gray kit it is replacing.

This boat can be seen in person at Regal & Nautique of Orlando.

Down the steps to Sydenham railway station with the Sydenham bypass and George Best Belfast City Airport in the background.

Really? Well, sort of.... This was a site meeting held at the former Platform 9 at Aberdeen ‘Joint’ Station in the summer of 1998.

This was a most peculiar time wasting diversion in the early history of the RDRPS.

Without any committee discussion I was told that any attempt to reopen part of the former Deeside Railway was being put on hold & that the society’s main aim was now to gain access to the basement of this building on the corner of Guild Street & Bridge Street. Here would be some sort of ‘visitor centre’ & ultimately steam trains would run from here to another visitor experience at Ferryhill, ( via the carriage washing plant....).

I’m sure I was not alone in the membership in thinking that this was out-with the aims of the society. I for one had joined on the understanding that we were re-building part of the Deeside Line, not hanging about the city centre looking over to the Inland Revenue office block.

Anyway, I went along to this site meeting with about three other members, a Railtrack official & a city councillor. All very nice, but a hopeless non starter, the whole thing died a death. about a year later at a society public meeting. A ‘Mr Angry’ from the suburbs came along & laid into the whole thing , killing it off for good & probably doing the young society a very big favour!

The track in this picture is the headshunt from the carriage washing plant.

Got my Heated Build Platform parts from Ponoko today!

Things to fix in the next version:

- Bottom build platform magnet & bolt holes are in the wrong place.

- Need 0.4mm bumps instead of 0.1mm for better friction fit of perpendicular parts.

- Delrin was too thick for 3*2mm layers; was probably 0.1"=2.54mm thick. May simplify to two layers & fill gap anyway.

This is the PU signal (from the Danish Perronudkørselssignal, which means "platform exit signal". Most Danish stations have one or more of these along or beyond the end of the platform. They govern movement from the station tracks through any switches at the leaving end of the station.

The green light on the PU signal displays Kør (Proceed), with the warning that the following U signal – the Udkørselssignal ("station exit signal") – may display a stop indication. The "U" signal delineates the station from the open line, and serves as a block signal.

Were the green flashing, it would indicate Kør Igennem, which means "proceed through." This means that one can expect a proceed indication on the exit signal.

Swanage railway station is a railway station located in Swanage, on the Isle of Purbeck in the English county of Dorset. Originally the terminus of a London and South Western Railway (L&SWR) branch line from Wareham, the line and station were closed by British Rail in 1972. It has since reopened as a station on the Swanage Railway, a heritage railway that currently runs from Norden station just north of Corfe Castle to Swanage station. It now also runs to Wareham on certain services, but not on regular services due to signalling problems.

Situated between Loughborough and Leicester, Sileby Station is a stop on the Ivanhoe Line. This April 2011 shot takes a look along platform one where a metallic shelter provides some protection from the elements for passengers awaiting Leicester-bound trains.

Not in service since 1917, so the walls were never properly tiled. Now mothballed and bricked off, with ancient disconnected rails.
