Iron oxide pained on bisqueware by my friend Jack

My homage to Henry Draper's 1882 dry plate photograph of the Great Orion Nebula. A 35mm format dry plate that I coated with orthochromatic ASA 25 photographic emulsion that I made, loaded in my Nikon FM3a, then shot with VC200L-DG 8" f/6.4 Catadioptric Telescope. Developed in D-19. To capture the full dynamic range of the plate, I scanned twice and stacked: Once to capture the faint details and once to capture the bright core.

This is the result of several attempts over the coarse of 2 months. This was really hard to get right.

My Winterling china set. For some reason I'm head over heels for this set. All girly and flowery.

It was gifted to me from my friend's family and googled hunted as much as I could based on the maker's stamp. It's from Bavaria, Germany, made in the late seventies probably, not worth much and the company made a similar set with different cups etc. The Röslau factory went bankrupt in 2000, only the Markleuthen factory makes Winterling china anymore, mostly for hotels. The little milk jug is missing from the pictures as it was MIA from the set at the time.

I love the mint green colour of this plate.

it's been almost a week and i'm still not over breaking my favourite plate. thrifted for $1 at salvation army, made in japan, no brand....

My first 5x7 plate made at home. I did a couple in the workshop last year, but when I got up and running at home last Fall, I confined myself to quarter-plates. I find 5x7 to be a very comfortable size to pour and the resulting plate is very satisfying.

Here's the one of the Corelle luncheon plates close up. It's many different flowers going around the plate. I don't know the name of it. Maybe someone out there can help?
