The plastering is finished and drying.
I've always wanted to spend money lavishley, but never dreamed it would be on a dining room.
We spent all day looking at furniture, flooring and paint. Decided on a light oak dining table and chairs, a solid (darker) oak floor, and light yellow/cream on the walls - we even ordered some vertical blinds for the window and the living room.
Looked a great day for photography, but I missed it! Did have tea in Betty's (2 days in a row). Bet the weather is non-photographic tomorrow! Ah well.
If I haven't commented much on your pictures recently, the above picture is part of the reason why.
The prep for new plaster is now complete, this includes:
â—¦Cutting and chipping under tile (if not being replaced)
â—¦Chipping around all fittings, lights, etc
â—¦Removing old fittings and preparing for new (if applicable)
Bond coat is applied to the pool to ensure the new material has a good surface to bond to. Plaster has a very smooth surface which doesn’t give the new plaster much to grab on to. The application of an epoxy based bond coat leaves a good rough texture that allows the new plaster to grab onto and form a solid bond preventing future delamination.
Woke up this morning with cracking in plaster :-(
