Prism Matrix™ pool finish achieves a balance between natural and man-made components. Between strength and beauty and style and function. The Prism Matrix™ is a blend of our smaller pebbles that are well known for their roundness.

During the plastering process the surface undergoes many transformations. There are stages where the surface will not look like the final product, DO NOT FRET! Since most finishes have exposed aggregates, the materials are troweled many times to compact the aggregate and tighten the matrix. The extra cement will come to the surface and will be washed away.

◦You will likely notice the crew moving around your pool quite rapidly once the plaster process has begun and that is because there is only so much time to work the material and make your pool look its best.

◦For this reason the crew may delay cleaning something up until after the plaster is set.

◦Don’t fret, the colored plaster is not like paint and can be cleaned off of most surfaces fairly easily.

The old coping and tile have been removed, new tile is installed, now we set the new stone coping.

Plastering the ceiling of the new kitchen at Le Vay

The prep for new plaster is now complete, this includes:

◦Cutting and chipping under tile (if not being replaced)

◦Chipping around all fittings, lights, etc

◦Removing old fittings and preparing for new (if applicable)

Bond coat is applied to the pool to ensure the new material has a good surface to bond to. Plaster has a very smooth surface which doesn’t give the new plaster much to grab on to. The application of an epoxy based bond coat leaves a good rough texture that allows the new plaster to grab onto and form a solid bond preventing future delamination.

On assignment for Canned Creative, capturing images for a corporate website; It was great to be let loose on a construction site. I could have spent a whole day here capturing images of men at work.

This is the shiny smooth wall from further back. The strip at the left was deliberately left unplastered so we could learn how to blend in two areas for when we're working on bigger projects at home. The drylined wall has the hole in the middle so we could learn about filling in bigger patches like where you've had to remove old plaster.
