Some of the plants on offer at Fermoy's

Succulent plants, aka fat plants, are water-retaining plants adapted to arid climate or soil conditions. They store water in their leaves, stems and/or roots. The storage of water often gives these plants a more swollen or fleshy appearance than the others, also known as succulence.

Built for Andromeda's Gates on Eurobricks. I went with a function over form mentality for this build, as the processing plant actually works. You can fill the hopper, then open the trapdoor to let gold down onto the conveyor belt, which in turn is used to fill the dump truck. See it in action here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=TM0qFY4JgKE

Plants I am growing. in My dinningroom

Callicapra Plants Oct 2017 Callicarpa is a genus of shrubs and small trees in the family Lamiaceae. They are native to east and southeast Asia, Australia, Madagascar, southeast North America and South America.

Here is what gardnersworld.com has to say :)

Botanical name: Callicarpa bodinieri var. giraldii 'Profusion'

Common name: Beauty berry

Plant type: Shrub

Evergreen/Deciduous: Deciduous

Height: 3m

Spread: 2.5m

Features: Colourful new growth, Flowers, Fruit

Callicarpa bodinieri var. giraldii is not very often grown, partly because several plants need to be grown together to produce good crops of the violet bead-like berries. Callicarpa 'Profusion' is a great improvement, fruiting well on its own, with large packed clusters of the berries in mid-autumn, overlapping with the golden purple leaf tints and then lingering after leaf-fall. The young foliage is bronze-purple, and makes good material for vases, as do bare branches laden with berries. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).

Grow Callicarpa 'Profusion' in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or dappled shade, ideally near a path or in a front garden where you can appreciate its autumn beauty. Plants tolerate a little lime in the soil, but conditions which are too alkaline will cause leaf yellowing.

Position

Sun exposure: Full sun, Dappled shade

Aspect: South facing, West facing

Position in border: Middle

Hardiness: Hardy

Maintenance: Prefers rich soil

Soil type: Well drained/light/sandy, Clay/heavy/moist, Acidic

I quite like the way this one flower is tucked away beneath the bench.
