The V-22 Osprey. A plane that can tilt the rotors to take off & land vertically, and fly horizontally.
Before heading over to the University of Washington for the Academic Business Library Directors meeting, I did a bit of plane watching at SeaTac. I went over to South 188th Street - near my hotel - to view planes take off from the airport. Taken on Tuesday morning, May 8th, 2018.

On Saturday, the Cedar College oval transformed in to a model plane spectacular as more than 270 people, including 140+ kids, from all around the community came to participate in this very special family event, running over 4 sessions.
With help from mums and dads … kids assembled their very own rubber band powered planes … to then challenge each other for the longest and most accurate flights, displaying amazing tricks and aerobatics … we had an absolute blast … awesome fun!
We had rubberband driven planes, paper planes, remote control planes, stories about planes and distance and accuracy challenges.

The fisheries patrol plane (based in Invernes) does a low pass over Cromarty Harbour, checking out the local trawlers I suspect.
