Looking up the former Hay Inclined Plane which carried Shropshire Canal tub boats down to the level of the River Severn. The rails are not original, but have been added to show how the plane looked when it was working. 22nd November 2009.

The Young Ones actor, author and playwright Nigel Planer after receiving his Honorary Doctorate of Arts from Edinburgh Napier this morning. Nigel says:
"I am delighted to receive this honour and the responsibility that necessarily accompanies it."
“It has particular significance for me since, forty years ago, I flunked out of my university education after one year, for reasons probably best forgotten. I have been trying to compensate for this gaffe ever since.”
Plane spotters on the left. The plane spotters hang out and eat hot dogs at ‘Flyvergrillen' (the Aviator Grill) overlooking the airport, the airport didn't approve of this and put up a fence blocking the view, in response Flyergrillen had dirt amounting to a small hill moved up next to the fence and had benches put on top of it, so it's customers once again would have an unobstructed view of the planes.
Next year I must remember to use slower shutter speeds for aircraft with propellers. Just looks like a toy. :(

On the way to Austria we flew away from a sunset that made the wings of the plane glow red.
We couldn't actually see the sun from the angle of the plane, but the Lomo did us proud!
