Last of gum wall shots...and tons of other photos that I wanted to upload- maybe more later....i have millions! I just realized after looking through my photos for a project for spanish class....that i never uploaded photos from my camping trips this summer! Or the rest of the photos from when I went to England...hmm....
I take too many pictures.
I've been wanting to get this shot for a while now, but never timed it right. I caught the tide going out just in time before it got too dark for this shot.
Pipe Dream - Last night was again a nice moody one, so I headed to a fave local(ish) location to do a minimalist mono long exposure. This location is tide specific, but I do like it.
2023 was a rough year health wise and sadly, in the latter part, romantically, but I am better healthwise though and also a lot better off without Becca.
I have been getting out a lot more in both worlds because my health is improving fast and just being more "me".
I'm also not stuck to the phone 5 nights a week listening to Becca road rage a big rig down the interstate. Sleep is underrated.
It feels good to be by myself again.
Tonight I sit and watch as Felina DJ's my eclectic little Beach Club and puff on my little pipe as I think about how lucky I am to have so many loving friends in both worlds - something my ex can't say the same of.
I will be ok. Life goes on and it goes on rather well. It's a shame she didn't want to stick around for the ride, but I am still not travelling alone as I know I am still loved by many who travel with me.
You know...life is hard...but you must never stop fighting for yourself and what's right.
Always cast out into the universe good, but never expect it back and it will come. Cast out bad? Karma will find you with it to return it.
Be of peace all. I love ALL of you!

I know, I know, pipes are (probably) neither alive nor sentient. So, the big one has not likely deployed a little spy pipe to snoop through a slat-covered window. But that's the way it looks, and it is more fun to think of it this way. As usual, there is also a mini-mystery: Why did someone write 14 and 63 on the wall?

Indian Pipe or Ghost Pipe (Monotropa uniflora) is a white wildflower that is entirely free of chlorophyll. It can grow in very dark places, as it does not need sunlight. Instead, it gets its energy from fungi associated with decaying vegetation, thus it is parasitic. These are the actual white flowers on white stems. They lack leaves. They are found in moist, heavily shaded places, such as wooded wetlands. The plants are only a couple of inches tall, but you can judge the scale by the moss through which they are growing. This is the first time I've seen this plant, which I discovered at Iargo Springs, Huron-Manistee National Forest in NE Michigan.

Dour Acceptor, or Killer Bee storm drain, has many section transfers! Following a large grill, this section continued, including a plastic pipe!
Pipe rigate (ridged tube) is good for runny sauces because they fill the tube as well as catching on the ridges. But what I really like about it is that it looks like a little boat... The sea is sea salt and the light is sunshine flooding in through the kitchen door...
Thank you for looking and for your encouragement
For ESL viewers, "pipe dream" is an idiom: an unattainable or fanciful hope or scheme.
There was no clear reason why these two pipes were painted so differently, but the difference made for some nice abstract realism. Also, the light was interesting and unusual. It made the wall look a different color on the left.
